Ok for a heads up, I have a Kenwood deck running to (2) audiobahn amps. (1) amp is a (2) channel amp amp and runs my front speakers the other is a (4) channel amp running my rear speakers and (1) subwooder in bridged mode..

So I turn on my X today and I cam hear a buzzing out of my front passenger side speaker.. Its weird because my faceplate is off and my amps are turned off... So i put my faceplate on and turn on some tunes and I get NOTHING out of the front passenger speaker.. I adjust the balance, the balance effects nothing on full left its only the drivers side speakers on full right is the drivers side speaker... Then all of a sudden there is a POP and it works.. I have no idea on where to being looking, I thought I had seen it all but this is a new one to me..

I just dont see how (1) speaker out of the (5) installed would make noise when EVERYTHING is turned OFF??!!! WTF is that all about??

I'd suggest checking all your connections too. Once you went past the HU it all went over my head.....

why do you have yor set up like that???? IMO you should have the 4ch on your door and rear speakers and the 2ch on your subs in bridge mode.... by you using the one 4ch for subs and speakers you wont get the preformance you could get out of the 2ch...

i have 2 amps as well and i have the setup like i just said.... just trying to help you out... if you need to talk over the phone you know my number....

Long story short the company completely screwed up the order and I was shipped better stuff than what I ordered..

Here is my set up.. All number are RMS not Max..

Front:
AudioBahn amp running 220x2 @ 2 ohms
Infinity 2ohm speakers 240 RMS each

Rear
Audiobahn 150x4 or 300x2 @ 4 ohms (I am set up to run 3 chanels 150x2 (rears) and 300x1 (sub) @ 4 ohms)
Kicker speakers in rear doors 150 RMS each

Sub
300 Watts RMS

It just seemed like it was the best set up..

Plus I had installed my front speakers and amp the week I bought my car, then I upgraded the rear speakers and added a sub months later...

i wouild swap the wires to run the 4ch on the door speakers and put the 2ch on the amp... i cant believe the one amp is pushing door speakers and a sub while at the same time allowing it to sound good.... and the reason i say that is cause the subs run on a low pass filter and the door speakers should be run on a high pass filter.... if you try to run one amp on high and low it will cause the amp to fail premature.... it shouldnt be hard to just swap the wires around.... here are my specs....

pioneer premier HU

fosgate 6 1/2's in the front
memphis 6x9's in the rear
those are pushed by a nitro 4ch amp at 1000 watts

the subs are fosgate p2's and they are pushed by a fosgate punch amp running 400 watts ( that is rms... fosgate teasts each amp befor boxing and they make a cert of birth and mine got up to 1682 watts before they called it good... ) if you want detailed pics of my amp setup let me know and i will go out and take somemore but here are the ones i have on photobucket....

why do you think it would cause the amp to fail prematurely if its got a low pass filter and a high pass filter for each pair? it should be able to run it fine. im just curious cause thats how i have my setup. i have a 840 watt 4 channel amp with channels 3 and 4 bridged for the sub and 1 and 2 stereo for my fronts

x2 i dont see what would make it fail prematurely, in every car I have ever owned I have had a 4 channel amp running 3 speakers.. I usually only amp the fronts and then add a sub, with the X I needed new speakers plus I needed another amp so I thought why not..

I mean even my head unit has an option on what frequency's to allow to pass through the RCA cables.. So i could put them both of full and adjust it at my head unit if I wanted to..

i didnt read anything about a seprate filter... and all the times i have delt with car systems i have always been told to stay clear or running subs and highs off of the same amp... thats why they have high and low phase amps... but thats just my 2cents im just trying to add to the sound spectrum if you know what i mean.... i have had my system over 2 yrs and its still hitting like king kong is in the trunk... LOL

also with the 2 amps i have a greater range i can tune the speakers sepratly....

I dont have a king kong system, its actually far from it.. I have always been more of an SQ fan..

I had (1) 10 in the back but I am doing a box redesign.. I am actually looking into a 8" version of this bad boy:
http://i38.tinypic.com/2qteucw.jpg

I just dont think I need a 10, I was only running it at 1/2 power most of the time.. funny thing is this sub has a larger surface area than a 10.. But is smaller :) so the box will be easier to build!!

the l7 is sweet... i almost bought those instead of the fosgate but i was going to get the 12's.....

i agree that you should be running all your highs off the 4channel and the subs off the 2 channel bridged

why wil it make the amp fail earlier?
bc the subs pull way more power than the highs
there are uneven loads on the channels

for optimum performance you should have a dedicated amp to the subs and a dedicated amp to the highs/mids

bridge the 2channel and runs the subs off it

run the highs off the 4channel
it will perform better

unless that 4 channel amp is in fact 2 seperate amps in the same unit it is an improper setup, you cant correctly tune one amp to both sub AND highs, it just dosent work that way, it may sound fine as it is, but its still no bueno

maybe I will get around to it, my amps are tucked away inside the 1/4 panel right now, removing them takes a great deal of time.. I have to remove them to re-wire them.. everything sounds great for me so I am not complaining about the wiring..

I dont see the big deal you guys are making.. i mean if was that bad of an idea to run 1 channel on highs and one on lows they wouldn't make a dual crossover...

Looking at a 4 channel amp, I am wondering is there any problems wiring one set of crossovers to be set on high or full and the other on low?? Example channels 1&2 will be high or full pass and channels 3&4 will be bridged and running on low.
Stephen.
No, not at all. Those channels are completely separate.
Stephen.
That's why you have separate controls for each channel.
Chris
Ok because I was having a debate about running the x-overs in different mods that it will kill off the amp early because of a various number of reason..
Stephen.
No that is false, that defeats the purpose of any amp ever made over 2 channels with more than one crossover.
Chris
Ok Thanks!
Stephen.
No problem, anything else I can help you with.
Chris
No that is all, thanks again.

I am also a SQ fan! I run 2 amps and only have 2 woofers and a front set of component speakers. Each Sub gets 600 watts RMS, and each front speaker gets 150 watts RMS.

My 2 amps are Kicker SX amps and I run the 1200.1 (Subwoofers) & 900.4 (front Speakers)

And were you talking about these little guys???

My 2 subs are 8" Kicker L7's and for an 8" woofer, they hit hard and have incredible sound quality!!

Thats not as bad of a thing as everyone is making it out to be. I have run multiple speakers/subs off a 4-ch amp before and never had a problem with it. Just as long as the settings are correct, everything should work properly.

I've got my stereo finished in the X, and its not worth it putting anything in my Daily driver/beater car. I am debating the ebay thing with it and some of the other stuff I have laying around.

I'm sure Ehsan is very interested in those speakers and would be willing to let me have those off road lights for that.....lol jk.
