That bumper won't work on yours bro. It only fits the square eyes. And it looks like it has two tabs to mount it to the frame rails over the stock bumper.

There's not but one pre-runner bar that will fit an '02-'04 model X that I know of and it has to be special ordered from Total Chaos and I think it's around $600 IIRC. And it doesn't replace the bumper. The only pre-runner bars I've seen that do are custom fab jobs.

lol, I totally feel ya there, dude. I used to have reverse lights on mine but it kept blowing fuses even with relay on it, I took it off and I'm thinking about doing it again but this time, with the light remote control, its easier that way.

Yeah....you should wash the underbody and wash the mud off the mechanical parts like IFS, steering joints, things like that b/c the mud will harden and its like a rock...but for the frame and things that dont move...dont worry about those but just those critical moving parts should be hosed down.

Yes, it wears down bushings and destroys grease areas and can work itself into grease boots sometimes if left on too long. Dried mud causes friction around the wheel hub assemblies and drivetrain and the longer it's left on, the more it breaks down and gets in there where it's unreachable. It's a really good idea to make sure to go to a carwash and use the high spray wand to spray your wheels and undercarriage while concentrating on hitting all the joints really good within 1-day after mudding. I never let mine go a full week before washing the underneath, I think that's just asking for trouble when leaving it on for a week or more.

x2 on that....I typically wash it within a week after getting some mud on it

I think the pressure washer has certain selections you can switch...here we have more than one...one for water, one for soap, one for tires, things like that...just avoid using the tire selection if you wash your tires....i typically just leave it on rinse.

it mounts to the stock bumper.. Not sure how it would a a 02-04 because its a plastic bumper. on the 00-01 it get bolted to the metal section of the bumper..

i have ranchos right now. love em! they are sick dude. and as far as exhaust goes. i have a magnaflow dual exhaust on mine. i have never seen it before, i thing the guy that had the X before me might have custom done it. but its sick. i love it. when jeff first heard it he almost ripped it out so he could use it on his.
and as far as washing goes...DEFINITLY wash atleast the front end suspension stuff bro. i didnt know that and i am getting all my front bushings replaced this week cause they are totally shot. the dirt seeps into it and dries them out permenantly.
and keep me updated on what you find out about the front bumper bro, id like to get something done w/ mine too. ive got an 01, so that prerunner would work for me, but i kinda wanna get the schrock type clearance on the front wheels too, so i dont realy wanna just bolt on the my existing.

for a muffler for you, since you have the 4 banger, i'd go with a magnaflow muffler, high flow cat, and the cherry bomb. my buddy has a 4 banger 4runner with all that and it sounds deep and awesome. i couldn't imagine yours sounding too different...but he also has headers, so idk lol

I hear that changing the bulbs in the '02 isnt easy as '00-'01 and 2nd gens...might wanna look into the the "how to" threads for one...I think I saw it there.

either a bad fuse or a possible wiring problem...i'd try to test the wires with the voltometer and see....did you buy it from a previous owner?

check your fuse box under the steering wheel, then fuse box in the engine compartment then if no fuses are shot, try buying a set of bulbs and see if those work.

i found the thread about removing the bumper and grille by the way... and in a post by james, he explained a dif. way to get to them by going through the fender well. i think thats prolly what i'll do... sounds a lot easier

Get someone to help you with the Herculine??? I think DuPont makes a DIY spray-on bedliner that you can buy in little spray cans. I would assume you might need primer if painting to keep it from peeling but that's just a guess.

i actually did a rattle can bed liner on the bottom like 6 inches of my grill, taped off the rest of it, and painted. it looks sick and you cant even tell its bed lined.
dude, go w/ it, it looks sick...here ill go take a real quick side pic and show you what yours will look like. you will not regret it, just done use shiny stuff, make it flat or matte. i did no sanding, just clean it real good w/ 409 before you spray it, let it dry, and then paint away, be prepared, it takes alot of paint. gimme like 5 mins, ill post a pic in a bit.

where are yall going? im confused by this thread. but yea dude, to answer your ? from a few pages ago, any cleaner like 409 would work just fine, i just happened to have some 409, but anything, i think even windex type stuff would work.
spray the plastics w/ water once theyre off, then wait for em to dry, clean it w/ some sort of cleaner and paper towels, then paint. its simple, just make sure you do it carefully and in multiple coats. as i was told when i did mine, start out w/ one light coat, move to a bit heavier gradually. it will come out more even.

Sounds like the plastic absorbed it. Primer or more coats should help that from happening. Plastic can sometimes need a few coats of spray.

so try another can on it? this was a very big can,

I would work on a small problem area and see how many coats it takes to get it to stay black. That will let you know whether it's worth considering primer or not.
