i figured this would be a good one, do you wheel your X?
if so, did you intend to upon purchasing it?

I love the outdoors. I bought an SUV to compliment my other activities I had no thought on doing any real wheeling. I figured dirt roads were about as rough as I would get. I had no plans to mod the X (except I wanted to install a carputer).

Now, fast forward 9 months.

I wheel as often as I can which seems to be at least once a month.

Dumb girl question alert:

Wheeling? as in, off roading? or am I missing something? :)

Yeah, off-roading.

Since were on the subject of dumb questions, here's one of mine. Muzik, do the shackles on your bumper rattle or make noise when you drive on the highway?

Just curious because I ordered them....

The front shackles do not (at least not that you can hear) but the rear shackle in the hitch rattles like crazy on rough roads or when you hit a bump.

It has to do with how tight they are. The front bumper was Herculined and that caused the holes to be a bit smaller and also coated with rubber (Herculiner is a polyurathane (sp?) with rubber bits in it) so the shackles are a little tighter and don't move around.

Maybe if we put shrinkwrap tubing on the pin it would quiet it up a bit...

Actually, Alley's father had a good idea. You can buy the rubber tool dip (for coating things like screwdriver handles and plier handles in rubber). If you dipped the hoop in that they wouldn't make noise as they banged off the bumper. Also, since you got the rear bumper the tabs on it are 1" thick so you don't have to worry about side to side slop like on my front bumper.

Edit: This stuff http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.asp?autofilter=1&part=PLD%2D11603%2D6&N=115&autoview=sku

Well, I didn't buy an X so I can't vote!! But, I have wheeled pretty much all my life. My dad had a jeep when I was little and i remember sitting in the back and banging my head off the roll bar ( Yeah that might explain something.) Then as a teenager we just found some fields and mud.
Now with the X its been the most technical wheeling I've ever done driving ( can't say riding since its been so long.)

I really love playing in mud doing donuts and spining and stuff, hillclimbs make me a bit nervous!! I love wheeling as much as I can ( did it every weekend for like a month and a half.)

Its a great way to see the country and the woods, I wanna go out west and wheel moab and such!! I think that would be great!

yeah, I'm a girl I promise....just a total :hick:

:) I would, but some how I don't think your wife would listen to me. ;)

Edit: Ricer, this being Vbulletin there should be an option to make selections public. This way everyone can see who voted for what.

That way we can get on peoples cases about their choice. :)

For instance...ggun...what is the big idea buying an Xterra and not letting it taste a little dirt. That is like buying the wife lingerie and not letting her wear it. ;)

There is that option, but it needs to be preselected when you post the poll originally. I'll take a look in a sec, to see if I cant alter it...

I guess I would be a yes, but more for necessity than sport, I don't like pickup trucks that much, the last one I had I spent $1700 on a matching fiberglass topper, to cover up everything that potentially would belong to someone else, so it really wasn't a pickup anymore....I got excited when I learned that the back seat pads came out of the X, but the seat back still doesn't lay flat when they are removed.....

Should have held out for an 05-06. Not only do the back seats fold flat, but you don't even need to take the seat bottoms out to do it. The front passanger seat also folds flat.

Canteen was offered in 05 but only on the S/SE models and it appears to be a very rare color.
