Hello, Found this on E-bay..the HELIX POWER TOWER ...trottle spacer?

Is it worth putting installing this? the claims sounds impressive...more mileage up to 5 miles per gallon more..22 HP more power...etc

I've never heard of this one. It's interesting but I've always been a bit sketchy when it comes to TB spacers. With fuel-injected engines, I really don't see it making that big of a difference BUT I have been wrong before. I know a few people have put in basic TB spacers with little to no gains but not sure about this one.

Welcome back... long time no see.

invalid link.

Welcome back dude.

Well, I had a TBS, and I sold it. I had it on for about a week I believe. I did not like it. The dude that bought it from me is named Cbzdel (<--screen name) He wanted to try every trick in the book to extract HP from the VG33 so you should ask him for results

I've heard that the most you get from them is a whistle. However Cbzdel may be able to tell you different.

I have actually yet to install that damn thing.. I bought it off James a while back and I have yet to put it on, it actually has harder to put on than I thought and its jsut sitting in my stack of mods to do haha..

I still plan on doing as any HP mods as I can BUT I am running out and I dont want to tear into the block and I want to keep it NA.. There is just not really an aftermarket for the 3.3L

My uncle has a personal Dyno in his garage at his HOUSE!! And I was going to use it to test thing out but now he is in Italy designing airplanes until next Jan 09!! Lucky Bastard works for Boeing and they PAID for him to fly and his wife over there gave him a car and a house!!! Someday I wish to be rich :)

Hello, There are several companies that make throttlebody spacers... and several companies that makes Air filters and both make claims of increase horse power and mileage.

If several companies invest in makeing these products? ...there must be something to them...I agree NOT all will be the same.

After researching a few pages on line...most will tell you it is a NOT a good investment for EFI engines.....than again...most companines can get sue for false claims?

Still confuse....for now I will not buy this product...instead maybe a horse?
(one horse power more for sure?)

Aloha,

the reason they can get away with those claims is bc every one of them says "up to" meaning, anything below the gains they claim, including zero gains

the tb spacers for engines that wont benefit from them are sold on the misconception that they will have the same benefit for newer engines as they did on older engines, with no thought to HOW/WHY they helped older engines

people see the claimed gains and drop the $, then put it on and imagine they can feel it

simple as that

a tb spacer was dyno tested on a jeep 4.0 and produced like like 1 to 1.5 hp to the wheels..

so there:)

Any gain is a gain IMO

yes, but is 1hp to the wheels worth $90?
not to me, shaving 25lbs will be more of a gain than 1hp or even 1.5

i have never paid that much for it lol.. I think I paid $30ish shipped but I am still questioning the gain with the VG33m it seemed everything and anything you did to the Jeep 4.0 showed gains but its not like that with other engines..

I have never seen a TB spacer make any power on the dyno.

I have used them before though, When Doing a turbo, or supercharger on a car and needing to tap into a vacuum source, I will put one in, drill, and tap it out, and use that for the source. expessally if I want to do a rising rate Fuel pressure with a regulator, or anything like that.

That is about the only use i have found for them.

At least you've found a use for them other than a paperweight or wallet lightener.
