You need to go to your local auto parts store, book store and buy the manual for your X.
I would hate to try and work on mine and not have read the manual first.
Good luck. Oh yeah where are you changing the belts?

I don't know about Xterra belts, but usually there are two bolts on the tensioner pulley. One that locks the tensioner into place and the other to adjust it. Unless you loosen the first bolt, you can loosen the adjuster bolt all the way and the pulley won't move at all.
If you want a service manual but don't want to pay out the nose. Go to;
http://www.nissan-techinfo.com/nissan/
Buy the one day subscription and then download the service manual to your hard drive. When you go to do the work you can print out the pages you need. The factory service manual is much much better than any 3rd party books.

Sorry guys I didnt get any emails that there were replys.
I did some work to the X. Plugs, Wires, K&N, changed the oil with Mobil 1 5000 mile oil but I also bought belts and a PVC valve. Might as well do the whole package. I'm doing all this in my garage.
I like to think I'm pretty handy with basic engine work. I do all my own work on my GTP and GTO. But with a Nissan engine, I was a little confused. I'm looking for a rubber hose that has the PCV valve in it and I cant find it. But also I didnt understand why there are V belts. Wouldnt it be easier for a serpentine belt?
But Ive been looking online for cheap books or websites that give basic information about the X.
Well Thanks for the Tips and the one day subscription.
I need all the help I can get.
Thanks again guys.
