I am looking for a lockable storage container that can be mounted in my cargo area. I carry guns regularly and would like to insure that they dont get jacked. I have seen the rear roll out shelves and similar products but they are expensive and heavy. I am just looking for a 30-36"X12X12 box either plastic or metal that would fit my M4 and maybe a few emergency pieces. SO does anybody have anything like this? I cant believe nobody markets something like this but I have yet to find anything to fit the bill. Any ideas would be great as well as a place to find/buy whatever it is and pics too.

I am not sure what year you have, but if it's an 05-06 get a pelican case that is as wide as the utili-track. Drill 4 holes in the bottom of the case and bolt it to the track. You can then use a standard master lock on the box. Pelican cases are built tough, so it would take some effort to get into it and since it's bolted from the inside, you would have to get into it to remove the entire box. It's not 100% secure, but it's probably your best solution.

If you don't have an 05-06, then just drill holes in the floor and bolt it in that way.

Ghetto nothin....I live in small town south dakota. I just like to be prepared for the worst and since Im always out shooting I like to have things locked up while in transport. Emergency pieces=ammo, emergancy food, etc.

Anyways I have considered a Pelican or Storm case but hate thinking about drilling into one since their known for their watertight seal. Putting 4 holes in it just feels like a crime. I have also seen atv diamond aluminum boxes(like a small truck box) for the backs of ATVs. THese have the same lock as a truck box and hydrolic shock to keep the lid up. These are ideal although they can range from 90-280. I can do the 90 but the nice one is $200. Just curious if anybody else has secure storage for anything. Awhile back there was a gun thread and another guy had a few ARs. Wondering if he will chime in with ideas.

Yeah I'm not gun savy, and I thought the emergency pieces were like some 9mm's you would need to bust out and put a cap in someones a$$.

Anyway, is it possible to get a lock put on the cargo part in the floor? Not big enough for rifles or anything but just to have a lock on it?

FInally got it installed tonight. I had to return the original and get the smaller one(6X12X32). I had planned on it being a big job. I picked up some bolts at HD and was trying to find the best placement for it since I figured it was going to stay in place because it would be a pain in the ass to crawl underneath and tighten while someone held the nut from the top. So I was all ready to drill into the floor when it hit me. Those nifty little loops of metal(not the flip up ones but the 3 towards the front and in the middle of the cargo area) would be perfect. The washers didnt fit under them but then I remembered that the box came with little c type shaped brackets for atv racks. Worked perfect. I thought it was going to be a hour job and it was done in 10 minutes. I will post up pics when its done and my "toy" is safely stored in it. One more reason I love my X
