Hey guys I'm looking to buy an 02-04 model X and I definately want 4x4 but I'm not sure if it's worth the extra $$ to get the supercharged version. Also I assume I would get an auto because it's an SUV and will be mostly on-road driven. But at the same time, I have always driven manuals and feel kinda girly going to an auto and also plan on doing a decent amount of light duty off roading. I plan on doing a 2" or 3" lift and wheels and tires, but I'm not going to Moab or anything. Any input will be greatly appreciated.

If you are looking at an 04, I would take a look at the 05 as well. It might still be in your price range and it's got a lot more power.

With the poor power of the 00-04 X's the SC would be nice, but keep in mind that you then have to run premium gas. With gas prices the way they are, I wouldn't want a SC.

There are a lot of aftermarket stuff for the 00-04's and the market is growing for the 05-06's.

I do suggest that if you plan to wheel and there are any rocks in your area, that you look at getting sliders to protect your rocker panels.

i would say pass on the SC, ive spent a minor amount of $ in power and have been shocked at my gains, havent even gotten an exhaust yet, my gas mileage is way up too, im over 20mpg in the city. but i pump premium anyway
