My GF is out of town for a week so I have her 03 Jetta VR6, now I can tear down the X for some mods I have planned... The problem, she left me the keys and the gas light on!!! sneaky bitch lol.. All VWs take premium from what I hear, including hers even though its a N/A V6.. I dont want to pay the price for premium (just under $5/gal) to drive it. Can I stick regular in it, I mean it has a knock sensor so it will retard the timing so it runs correct right..

I just want to drive it but I JUST spent $70 to fill the X 2 nights ago and I cant pay another $70 to fill the Jetta now...

LOL, it should only cost you about $3 more to fill it with the good stuff instead of the cheap stuff, lol.

20 cents more per gallon x 15 gallons (at the most, lol for that little car) = $3. That shouldn't kill ya, lol.

Sounds like my GF who also has a Jetta. All we use nowadays is the 87 octane in it but her engine is a 2.0.

Not to sway from the subject, but man I hate changing the oil in that car. The oil filter is a bitch to get to unless you got a lift.

I was working on the X doing an oil change and she was like I should get mine done to and I was like whens the last time you got it done and she goes to look at the sticker and goes about 6500 miles ago!!! WTF!!!

So we go to the auto parts store and buy a $20 oil filter!! We go to install it and cant even figure out where it goes, so we take it to jiffy lube and they tell us we got the wrong filter and they charge $60-$70 bucks for a F***ing standard oil change!!!!!

I thought all the VW engines were designed to run on premium, you want want to double check that hers is not as well, you could be causing damage to the engine!!

My mom has a mercedes and I do the oil changes on that with Mobil 1 and I set her up for oil changes every 5000. 6500 isn't too bad, but def too much. The most I have seen here at work was 24,000 miles over due. So it was 27000 since their last change. Man was that oil bad (what little was still in there)

beware chris that on the vortex you will get FLAMED
use the search to the best of you abilities

if you have to actually ask a question id do it on europeanag
but of course search there first too, from what i used to hear on EAG any MKIV info you could ever need is on vortex, you just gotta search and sift thru BS

A4 would of been faster haha :)

I wanted an 2006 Xterra but I was worried about gas prices so I bought a new Mazda3 instead... Then I wrapped it around a block of concrete then decided to take the $$$ and buy a 00 Xterra and pay off the rest of my debt since I owed so much on the car :(

Thanks for the heads up.. I tend to be a searcher but I can handle a little flaming, I will flame them right back and start an uproar and probably end up getting banned hahaha...
