That's actually a real brush guard. Not often to see one that isn't just for show. :)

Drake

If I had to guess, I'd say the guy works for a logging company. Some of the logging trucks I've seen here have some really beefy bumpers because a lot of their access roads have a lot of brush and debris on the roads.

That a whole front end it looks like. The bumper is all fabbed and welded. That attaches to the Guard. which looks like bent DOM tubing. That will CRUSH!!!

they have that under control... look about mid way on the guard and you see the bolts holding it in place.... now look at the bottom of the bumper and you see the hinge

Any idea what type of bed that 1-ton had on it to hint at why that would work for him??? Like Alpine said, that will crush if anything like a tree were to fall on it but it'd help for lighter things like branches and stuff.

It was just a regular bed, that's what was so funny looking about it, lol. I figured the same thing though, logger or something. It was so nicly build, I think it was manufactured.

Keep in mind though that it's easy for a site to get rolled back a few mins while being upgraded, that's why is usually better to do during off peak times. It's also possible that a quick backup was made, upgrade patch applied, then a quick restore was done within a few mins.

Ricer-X
06-12-2008, 08:05 PM
that makes sense actually, cuz that was aroundd the time they upgraded right?

Exactly my first thought about the spikey bar too.

Funny how the day after I saw this thread an H1 hummer passed me with some kind of front cage like this but it had a big *ss hinged hook up near the windshield. I guess you could lower it down and pull or anchor stuff with it quickly while the cage stayed put.
We were at a light and I couldn't grab a pic.

HOLY MONKEY! Surely that "death bar" cannot be legal??? Aren't the hoods of cars built with crumple zones and safety features so you don't kill everything you hit? The first thing I thought was what if a little kid on a bike runs out in front of him in an alley? Good Lord! I would be a nervous wreck driving that around knowing that anything I hit would be skewered to my bumper like a pig on a spit! It just doesn't seems like the department of transportation would allow deadly spikes on the nose of a vehicle..... That being said it does look pretty dang cool! But he was my neighbor I would never let my 8 year old daughter ride bike around the block!

Yep I agree, lol. That's why he put the covers over most of the spikes, he's doing them all, but the rest are still on back order. Also he lives in a tiny little town of about 5000 people way up in the woods. The cops said they wish they could put those on their own cop cars so when they hit deer, they don't even have to get out, they just drive strait home and hang the dead thing up in the garage, lol.

Did you actually see it in person over there, they where just in Seattle a month ago. That bar is on his tow rig for his body dropped fullsize chevy.

And that mudflap girl, is just a metal one from the local truck stop, then powder coated black.
