: My 02 Xterra XE V-6
V6XterraGirl 06-05-2008, 07:02 PM I know it needs some work but here it is as I bought it a few days ago.
I want a black brush guard for the front. I think I may be getting tomorrow......
What all do YOU think it needs??

Drake 06-05-2008, 07:08 PM Looks good!
First thing I would do is pull off that window vent visor over the third window. Not sure why that is there. :hmm:
Aside from that... it looks very clean and in really good condition. Very nice indeed.
Xterra Mike 06-05-2008, 07:09 PM #1 the guys on here are going to tell you to skip out on the brush guard. It will just cause you more damage then be any good to you in a big crash. But if your like me not wanting something big and bulky looking like your hearding cattle then go with something small but nice enough to put some lights on like a Westin front light bar. I love mine. Oh and the dent was from a guard rail i hit when trying to drift on a wet road. Started out good but all in all the bar saved my bumper. Good for low impact.

Hey whats those wires hanging near you "GO" Pedal? You should check that out. Also, get a plug for the hole in your dash. Just some suggestions.

Ha ha i didn't even notice that. Weird. Why would someone put that there.
V6XterraGirl 06-05-2008, 07:19 PM The wires are to the after market stereo that "was" in the vehicle from the previous owner.
Drake 06-05-2008, 07:19 PM Yeah they are stick ons. I would get some kind of sticker/label remover or adhesive solvent that won't harm paint and use it to soak the little adhesive strips. It should come right off and then clean up the area really good. Sometimes the adhesive on those things can be really strong and if you don't use some kind of solvent, you can damage the paint.
I'd try the label/sticker removal stuff first because I know with my own experiences that it isn't harmful to paint.

Ok cool.. will do. Thanks! :-)
V6XterraGirl 06-05-2008, 07:34 PM Ha ha i didn't even notice that. Weird. Why would someone put that there.
It was a hispanic family that had it before me that lived out in the country. I am still finding Bud Light caps behind the seat, between the seats, in the back everywhere! lol.. I like beer but damn!!

That was the first thing I noticed too!!!
gixxersixxerman 06-05-2008, 07:41 PM i love the white with black tinted windows.... i would do a set of black rims a least a set of 18's..... but that my taste
V6XterraGirl 06-05-2008, 07:47 PM OK PEOPLE I PULLED THE REAR VENT THINGS OVER THE WINDOW OFF!! ;-p
The paint is fine.. they came off pretty easy actually. Just a little sticky tape stuff left on there but I can get that off.
Drake 06-05-2008, 07:52 PM If the others begin to come loose they will vibrate and wear spots on your paint so you'll want to keep an eye on that and if you want to use vent visors, I'd recommend getting the in-channel ones. They don't use that stuff and work much better. It's on my "to-do" list as well but way down the list. For now I just smoke and get rained on. hahaha
I noticed the wiring dangling by the skinny pedal too. You may want to push that back into the console or up behind the dash. That could be dangerous if your foot gets tangled in them while driving.
Just a few little tweaks here and there and your X will be looking good to go.
Xterra Mike 06-05-2008, 07:53 PM Yea try some sticker remover and let it soak. It should come clean. Hey my X doesn't look like its owned by a hispanic family, does it? Just kidding guys, i'm actually half Spanish and Portuguese so no offence taken or given. I like Moosehead anyway.

i have the in channel ones and i love them. The only thing is that once you have to take one off you'll need new sticky tape to put it back on.
V6XterraGirl 06-05-2008, 08:08 PM oops.. no I didnt mean to offend anyone. Everyone has their own taste in vehicle stuff... ;-)

No offence taken. you should see some of my friends cars. Oh my god. Now they fit the profile.
theonenonlykyler 06-05-2008, 10:26 PM i used to have those vent visors even on the front to.. i think they looked stupid so i took them off lol. because they were a wierd brown color on a silver xterra.. it looked kinda gross...
V6XterraGirl 06-05-2008, 11:45 PM Hey do they make aftermarket headlights or tail lights for the 02 Xterra?
Also the plastic peices up front..?
Dizzy55 06-06-2008, 12:00 AM I have been looking all over for some headlights. I haven't had any luck. I am going to get the lenses blacked out this weekend. I will post when i get them done. Tail Lights, they have some LED on E-Bay but a little ricey for me. Going to have the tails smoked also this weekend. I will post pics when it gets done. If you find some headlights let me know.

I bet that will look good. The only headlights I found were factory replacements and they were like $116 each.

they make aftermarket stuff, it can be found on ebay, are you talking aftermarker as in stock style or differnt style?? they make LED tail lights but I dont think they look right but thats just me... They dont make any custom headlights that I know of for the 02-04..
What are you looking for when you say the plastic up front?? bumper, grill ect?? are yours damaged??

Yea.. I was changing out plates on mine and noticed the light grey or silver plastic part under the front bumper was broke and has like a torn hole in it. The black front bumper is no longer black its very faded and does not look real good. Can it be painted maybe?
As far as lights go I want to put fog lights in, and buy new headlights or just clean those up. I was hoping to find some smoked after market headlights and tail lights... not the ricer kind though. I seen some smoked ones for the older X's and newer ones but not my year. I guess I will be getting creative with this project. lol.. ;-)
Xterra Mike 06-06-2008, 01:42 PM Ebay has everything
