: What kind of music do you like?
BOOFER 04-23-2006, 06:41 AM Im a typical 80's metalhead.:love-gitarre-big:
I listen to anything from the 60's to the 80's.
:machinegunner: <I really like this guy
xterra1982 04-23-2006, 10:51 AM :ass-big:
I love that guy... man...
Anyway...
I especially love singer/songwriters from the 60's and 70's (not exactly what one would expect from a 23 year old.. but I'm not your typical 20 something anyway)
I love most of the stuff nobody has ever heard of.. my fav musician of all time is Ani DiFranco but anytime I say that people always say "Annie who?" which annoys me...
Sometimes angry white boy rock is in order.. i.e. old limp bizkit. Sometimes angry white girl music is in order... i.e. Hole.
Generally speaking I'll listen to anything as long as it's well done... no pop for me... and most of the time no country although there are expections to both those rules.
taylor 04-23-2006, 12:36 PM I was raised on Pink Floyd to Kris Kristofferson to the Traditional Newfie/Irish Drinkin songs.
In the X right now you'll find:
Willie Nelson.
Johnny Cash.

The Watchmen ( Great Canadian Band )
Great Big Sea ( Great Newfoundland Band - Download them you won't be sorry. Excellent tunes)
Nina Simone
The Tragically Hip ( Best Band in Canada.)
Dire Straits.
The Cult.
Coldplay.
I can never stick with one thing.

That's a great collection there!
I love having the 6 disc changer in my X... it makes it much easier. And I have XM Radio too... nothing beats it :)

Actually I only have the single disc player in the X. I carry alot of CDs in the visor. Although I'm looking into getting satilite radio. Sirius seems to be the more popular one here in canada. But I still want to do more research on it though.
AztecX 04-23-2006, 10:27 PM The Cult. Good call.
Anyways.
I'll listen to most anything but all-time favorites include:
Social Distortion
Prodigy
The Clash
Red Hot Chili Peppers
The Crystal Method
Thievery Corporation
Screaming Blue Messiahs
...literally anything 80's but more so the new wave one hit wonder guys...any do-wop or rockabilly...you name it.
I'm going through a retro lounge kinda phase at the moment and I'm listening to a lot of SHirley Bassey and anything from James Bond soundtracks...
BOOFER 07-31-2006, 08:58 AM My friend came running over this weekend with a new BuckCherry CD called 15. He wanted to listen to it on my system. This is a pretty bad ass CD. Kind of a cross between GnR and Chilli Peppers. Kinda liked it so I picked it up.
Anybody else ever hear of them?

supercharged 07-31-2006, 09:45 AM Is that the West Virginia cherrys? I may know them:biggrin:
Alley 07-31-2006, 09:55 AM :dance-big: :dance-big: I have heard one of their songs on the radio... I dig the one song but, it had to be seriously edited as is "crazy bitch" Not sure why they even attempt to play it on the radio...
I like anything I can sing a long too....
Billy Joel
Tom Petty
Metallica up to the black album (though they are seriously overplayed now and I can barely listen to them.)
I too love 80's hair metal
Some country and some Pop too...
Beastie boys
Linkin Park
Pearl Jam...
Yeah, I like music....I'm not passionate and knowledgalbe to say I know music.
I just like to sit in my car and groove...I so totally am one of those people that get pointed and stared out for singing and dancing while driving!
BOOFER 07-31-2006, 09:56 AM Is that the West Virginia cherrys? I may know them:biggrin:
Nah, not quite.
They're a bunch of sleazy, ugly, overly tatooed disgusting looking guys. So much that I almost want to throw the CD in the chipper just for that reason. But the music is still pretty good and I got it used for 8 bucks shipped So, no big loss.
BOOFER 07-31-2006, 10:15 AM Crazy Bitch has enough curses in it to qualify it to be X rated. So does every other song on the CD. I am no stranger to cursing (live in NY work in NJ:) ) But it seems that they decided to cram the F word as many times as possible into every song, so much that it's generally offensive - even to me.
But, it's still pretty good musically.
Hows that for a review?
Nancy 07-31-2006, 11:05 AM Yea i like Buckcherry's sound. And crazy bitch... love the beginning of that song. i'm kinda with Boofer; Buckcherry's cd is a little too much F this and F that and F her and F'in F. But i like their music.
As far as my music interest. I like anything from classical to hard rock. However i'm not much of a rap person.
Some hip hop is okay, when i'm in the mood nothing beats the sound of some solid bass.
I also like country, but once again i have to be in the mood.
I like some pop but paris hilton can go choke on a microphone. Kelly clarkson is awesome, love that girl.
I like Rhianna's music
I'm an ACDC fan.
I'm a HUGE fan of Mat Kearney... he's just amazing.
Love Dave Matthews Band!
Pillar rocks! so does 12 Stones
Staind is great
I like some Rascal Flats too
Okay, this post is way too long, i'll stop now.
unclehardrock 07-31-2006, 11:28 AM i'm a huge classic/hard rock fan- that's my favorite style....but i also listen to a lot of country, motown, alittle bit of rap every now and again, irish bands...etc... basically, i'll pretty much listen to just about anything
a few of my favorites-
tom petty
ac/dc
guns n roses
metallica
poison
iron maiden
motley crue
bon jovi
billy joel
rolling stones
queen
aerosmith
kenny chesney
pat green
toby keith
montgomery gentry
johnny cash- he's just the man
and, i haven't driven my x in about 3 days, but if i remember correctly, i think a band called o.a.r. is currently in my cd player....really good stuff

DRI
Guns N Roses
Ministry
Fugazi
Nitzer Ebb
KMFDM
Run DMC (Rasing Hell)

Yeah they play the "Crazy B!#@h" song here on the radio a lot.
I heard they put on a pretty kic a$$ concert also.
Anyway, as for my music:
I also like the 80's hair band rock in addition to,
GnR
Skid Row
Nirvana
Alice in Chains
Chevelle
Foo Fighters
Staind
I mostly listen to NPR.
:D
I have hugely varied tastes...depending upon my mood.
Essentially, if there's a style, there's stuff in it I listen to.
Classic, jazz, blues, all the rock variations, country, tribal chants, you name it.
:D
I don't own a single CD, which is odd in this day and age...the radio is the portal of choice (CD's keep getting stolen, said screw it...)
Muzikman 07-31-2006, 02:58 PM TJ, you are in your 60's right? ;)
I WAS born in the '50's...(1950's)
I remember when the radio was in the Den....and no one had tvs.
I remember when there were no color TVs.
I remember when JFK was shot, I saw it on TV. (B&W)
The Korean War was on, then Vietnam began.
There are people older than I am though....and one day, I'll find them.
:D

:DI remember most of the same things.
I remember sitting in front of my parents black and white tv watching Huntley & Brinkley giving the days body count from vietnam.
I remember Neil Armstrong walking on the moon.
I remember that I've forgotten many of the other things.
Anyway, I think that 70's music of any type, can't be beat. I just installed an Alpine 9815 in my X and it can play mp3's. I've got hundreds of 70's songs on disk in that format. My kids hate it, my 70's stuff drives them nuts, but hey what can you say; you can't spell crap without rap.
That's funny.
:D
I listen to rap too. Some of the lyrics are really funny. Some don't mean to be, but songs about children having guns and Ho's and bragging about their money and how well they can rap just make me laugh.
:D
Anthony 07-31-2006, 09:27 PM I listen to basically everything. I'd have to say 80's music is my favorite if I had to pick.
