Just wanted to post a pic of the front cranked up. Shackles should be here next week. Got her a little muddy after i cranked her.

If you really want to help the appearance of it being lifted, remove your steprails and the lower mudflaps. It's a trick of the eyes. It will seem like it's riding much higher than it is. Also if you wheel with them on, you are going to run the risk of tearing the flaps off and/or bending the steprails. They are really weak and more cosmetic than functional. They won't support much more than body weight.

When you crank your t-bars, make sure you have at least 1/2" of clearance on your upper bumpstops. A good way to gauge is if you can fit your index finger between the bumpstop and your UCA. You should be able to fit at least the first knuckle of your finger between them.

Thanks Drake for the advise. I already replaced the back 2 mud flaps. When i do head up to Rausch creek all that stuff is coming off. I'll have to check on the spacing though. I might be right there.

youa rent even cloe to the 1/2" gap buddy, that requires around 3" of lift, you shouldnt have cranked it that much, plus if you did your front would be way higher than your rear, lolz
looks good though, and x2 on what drake said, why dont you just take it off now? the rails and splash guards are easy as pie to remove and itll look like you lifted it 1.5-2"... for realz

x3 is look ALOT better when you remove the flaps and rails.. Also ditch the rear sway bar if you havent yet.. That is to save your shocks on and off road...

Ditch the rear sway bar? I do about 25 miles at about 65 mph everyday to work. I'm not so sure i want to do that. Yea i don't think i'm near the 1/2 inch point. When we Jacked up the front even after we were done there was still alot of travel in the suspension. When i get the shackles on i'll see if the nose is pointing down. If so i'll crank some more. No big deal. Exactly how many inches can i get away with without resetting the TB's?

It depends on the life of your t-bars. Just like springs, they will fatigue over time. Once you've maxed out your adjuster bolts, then you need to re-index your t-bars.

As for removing the rear sway, I ditched mine a long time ago. You will notice a slight difference in handling at first but you will get used to it. It's a minimal difference. The rear sway is a poorly designed POS that I'm surprised was never recalled by Nissan. When the rear axle flexes, the swaybar will rub against the shock housing on the passenger side and with off-road use, it can and will dent the housing. Some have reported dents so bad that the shock will no longer compress or extend.

Get under your X and look at the passenger side rear shock. I'm gonna bet that you've already got signs of rubbing showing on it.

i'll get under it today and see what's goin on under there. If its not a big difference then i'll leave it off. Taking off parts that are supposed to make the Xterra's stable scares me alittle but if you guys say that its really not a big difference then i'll see.

If you aren't sure or don't feel comfortable driving with it off that's fine but you MUST take it off before you go off-road. If you don't, you will be replacing a lot of shocks in the future. It's also possible to break the sway bar mounts completely off the axle too.

Honestly though, I really couldn't feel a difference in driving and I have a 60 mile roundtrip commute myself.

Does anyone offer an aftermarket rear sway bar that allows for clearance?

If you don't try to drive it like it a Porsche, then you will be fine. I don't have either sway bars on, and yes its a bit different, but you just have to adjust your driving style a little.

I actually like how mine handles without it better...

For the record, ADDCO makes saybar upgrades for the X, not sure what their design is but they are upgraded lol..
