how often do you need to do an oil change with amsoil? i put amsoil in my X before i left for Kuwait and i was told by the guy 45,000 miles is that correct? what about the oil filter? that cost more than the oil did. i just dont want my wife to have any problems while im gone..thanks chris

they say you can go up to 7,500 miles between oil changes on the XL 5w-30

the nissan oil filter is a good one so if you wanna save money get that rather than the amsoil one

um 45k miles is outrageous, unless that was a typo
if you wanna run your oil 7,500 miles you need to change your filter at 4000 and 7,500
there is no oil filter that will last as long as the synthetic oil will
sure you can leave the same oil filter on there for 7500 miles but it will go into bypass mode, meaning your oil wont be filtered anymore, which is bad
i wouldnt go to 7500 anyway, i still change my oil at 3500 with full synthetic oil

I run Royal Purple in my X with K&N filter. I only put on like 3000 miles a year with my X and I change it twice a year. So I really go like 1500 on an oil change. Now my car on the other hand, I change that oil every 2500 with dino juice. I only do that so I can keep it running as long as I can.

That's pretty far fetched info on an interval....

The only thing I see wrong with Amsoil is why the sellers try to dominate the search engines in regards to their products. It's a good product and the price varies so widely it's amusing. Read all about Amsoil and nothing beats it in any category you can conceive ... why everything else is so obsolete they shouldn't have to advertise and get $25 a quart easy...right?

IMO using synthetic oil the filter should be changed and the oil topped off every 3K. If you are planning on extended oil drain intervals then a sample of the oil should be sent off for analysis at each would be drain interval.
