: Bagged and Slammed X
gixxersixxerman 05-20-2008, 06:59 PM So ive been doing alot of reaserch into this and found some kits. A guy from work has bagged S10's and nissan hardbodys also has a couple of hardbodys layin around for the front clip if i need it..... so the end result is i plan on tucking at least a set of 18's and at least having the side rails lay on the ground...... i dont think im doing a body drop as i need a daily driver but its not totally out of the question yet lol also any imput anybody has on the subject please feel free to share thanks
cbzdel 05-20-2008, 07:11 PM everything is gonna be custom, the rears should be fairly easy maybe a weld on 4 link? the fronts i have NO idea where to even start lol...
gixxersixxerman 05-20-2008, 07:25 PM I found this.........
http://www.gravity-werx.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=1159
and im getting thier rear kit too.... i know its going to be some custom work done but i have this artical to help..........
http://www.minitruckinweb.com/features/0408mt_nissan_frontier_project_desert_dragger/index.html
ive been doing the research for awhile now.... as i said im a street guy ya know.... and i use to have a bagged tahoe that tucked 23' but never come close to the ground...... i know its not everyones cup of tea but i really like the look
gixxersixxerman 05-20-2008, 08:05 PM and the rear is going to have suicide doors universal 4 link kit......... its a cut to fit type kit should be pretty easy....... The guy i work with says he has the line already and a tank that will fit under the x..... he also wants to do 3/4" hard line down the frame rails with 1/2" ss braid line to the bags.....
cbzdel 05-20-2008, 08:09 PM what size valves are you going to run?? I know about the mini truck world, I myself was a rare breed in my jeep days, I had a lifted XJ and a street/race MJ, my MJ was an 89 and I put on a 2001 front clip off of a XJ and put it on bags also had a VERY nicely built 4.6L stroker, it was a 2wd dont worry :)
gixxersixxerman 05-20-2008, 08:39 PM Probably the 1/2" smc..... been around for ever and seem to always get good reviews.....
cbzdel 05-20-2008, 08:48 PM good choice, I had 1/4 on mine and it was to slow not that I was trying to make it bounce or anything...
gixxersixxerman 05-20-2008, 09:22 PM Im not so into the bouncing or anything....... but i dont want to slow of a rise.. and when i dump them im hoping it drops pretty quick to..... i had 1/2" on the tahoe and a 5 gallon tank and it moved ok i plan on at least a 9 gallon on the x and a air zenith compressor.... and of course f-b-s-s lol and lets see i plan on going with the slam specialies bags since they have a little bit more lift and dont balloon out.... ima put the x on a lift soon and see what ill have to cut out so it can lay out... it is based off a 4x4 platform lol
cbzdel 05-20-2008, 11:37 PM do you know how to weld??

I just noticed the license plate... Tina? Got something you want to tell us? :mocking:
cbzdel 05-21-2008, 09:19 AM I would drive that as long as I could still have my lifted one :)
I wouldnt pay money for it but if i won it or something I would only invest more into it making it as fast as possible maybe a crate engine or something...
It would be awesome to look into someones garage and see a lifted tall ass X parked in there (on the RV stall side, my X wont fit into a standard garage haha) and then that lowered thing parked next to it....
gixxersixxerman 05-21-2008, 10:26 AM I'm not doing no body drop or anything but we are looking into dragging the frame I guess...... I can't weld all that great but the guys I work with can..... And one is an awesome fabracator
json3904 05-21-2008, 06:38 PM cant wait to see the finished streetX
cbzdel 05-21-2008, 06:49 PM cant wait to see the finished streetX
Its gonna make you strip yours down and sell off the lift for some air bags :)
Brett89 05-21-2008, 06:50 PM Same here, I'd love to see what you have envisioned for this ground pounder, gonna look like one mean street machine. haha that rhymes, silly
gixxersixxerman 05-21-2008, 06:59 PM it is going to be a minute lol i gotta buy everything then get it put on...... right now im still researching everything, i started this thread to get info and to find out what others thought.....

That's my life, lol.
cbzdel 05-21-2008, 09:07 PM Creepy you should bag and drag your X to!!!!!!!!!!
Creepy Cruiser 05-21-2008, 10:25 PM You have no idea how close I was, when I had it all apart to paint it, to just go ahead and bag it and body drop it, lol. I was just a few sawsall blades away, from laying it in the weeds, lol. My firends still tease me, bacause I had it so far apart and didn't do it. Maybe someday, but I love the way it drives just the way it is and I still need a 4x4 for the crazy winters we have here. I'll post some pics soon of one of the crazy mods, that I am doing to it soon though.

your talking about your X right?? did you paint it that blue that it is??
Creepy Cruiser 05-30-2008, 11:45 AM your talking about your X right?? did you paint it that blue that it is??
Yes, the factory color just didn't do it for me, so I tore it all apart and changed it to the Nissan 350z Dayton blue, (I wanted to keep it an oem nissan color, lol). So far, it's still the only one that I know of out there that is that color, lol. I like things that are a little different than anyone elses. Most people think it's an 09, lol.
If you can't tell, I'm a little different, I do drive a Slammed Hearse, lol.
:wink-big:
cbzdel 05-30-2008, 12:13 PM Wow impressive!! Do you have your own paint booth??
Creepy Cruiser 05-30-2008, 12:17 PM Nope, I just usually find one of by buddies that has one I can use. I do all the prep at my shop.

gixxersixxerman 06-04-2008, 05:38 PM So this "friend" up at work is our paint and body shop manager, and him and my lil brother hang out. well the other day my bro told me that my "friend" was going to charge me 75$ an hour to put the bags on but not tell me about it.... he tells me he has done this with a couple otherpeople and keps thier cars untill they pay or till he can get a mechanics lein.... i get really pissed, and im so glad i found this out firs because it would have ended very bad for him..... and i dont think he can actully do that unles some kind of contract is written up, but i dont know about laws..... so this leaves me with doing it myself or not doing it at all...... i really havent decided..... i love the bags and i want them... but on the other hand i want as much value as i can get out of my X..... so creepy is it really worth it all... i had a bagged tahoe and i loved it... but they make bolt in kits and it didnt lay frame or anything.... i sold it for way more than i got for it becuase of the rms and bags that guy just had to have it...... anyways.... my girlfriends brother is my welder so i still got one of them and his helper at work is a good fab man so i think i can do this myself iv read up on the kits i understand them and have quite a few write ups to help along the way........... so any advice
json3904 06-04-2008, 09:31 PM if the guy is a mech or offers a type of service yes he can hold the vehicle and if you don't pay he can put a lien on it... my dad has his own shop and i have seen this happen many times...
gixxersixxerman 06-04-2008, 09:37 PM I know it can happen I got my ford probe through the dealership I worked at for 79 dollars..... Just the fee to see what was wrong with the car.... Customer didn't want it, it sat there for 8 months and I paid 79 bucks plus some fees.... Anyways I just thought there had to be something stating he worked on it for some kind of compensation .... I helped him on building his dirt track car I guess I. An go claim its mine now or he owes me some money... Thats what he was going to try to do to me..... He wasn't going to do any work by himself I was going to be there the whole time
json3904 06-04-2008, 09:51 PM you have to sign the estimate when you bring it in, and as long as it is signed and the estimate is right there is nothing you can do.... now if something else comes up and it looks like its going to cost more than the estimate then for example my dad will call and either get a verbal OKK over the phone or if its alot more then he will have the owner come up before he proceeds on the work
Creepy Cruiser 06-04-2008, 10:57 PM i love the bags and i want them... but on the other hand i want as much value as i can get out of my X..... so creepy is it really worth it all... i had a bagged tahoe and i loved it... but they make bolt in kits and it didnt lay frame or anything.... i sold it for way more than i got for it becuase of the rms and bags that guy just had to have it...... anyways.... my girlfriends brother is my welder so i still got one of them and his helper at work is a good fab man so i think i can do this myself iv read up on the kits i understand them and have quite a few write ups to help along the way........... so any advice
I do everything myself, I build all my own mounts, all my own control arms, all my own link bars, but I'm a tweak like that, lol. I say it's all about how comfortable you are in your and your buddies work, if you think you can pull it off, then go for it. As for the value, in most cases it will drop, except for that one guy that has to have it, like you found before, lol. I'm a jump in and make it happen kinda guy, and I love to drag, but that just me. If you want it bad, go for it, but I would have a beater with a heater to drive also, just in case it takes longer than you think. There are a lot of factors to think about (how big of wheels, means how much you have to mod the fenders and such). It's all in what you feel, lol.
Me, I'll bag anything. Right now I'm baggin my sons power wheels, lol.
ROCK ON!!!:rocker-big:
Creepy Cruiser 06-05-2008, 03:30 AM BTW, Just about everything we have around here gets laid out on the ground (even models of all types, lol)
