Got an 2006 X and wanted to know if the round "Nissan" symbol on the tailgate is bolted on or simply glued on. Dont really wanna find out the hard way.

most of the time emblams are adhesived on.... normally if it's bolted you can see the screw right in the middle if you look closely.

What you should be wary of though, is whether there are holes behind the emblem. For example, on the back of my Z there was this big Nissan emblem which looked tacky to me. I found other ones that were less tacky so I set out to change them. When I pulled of the rear emblem, there were 2 holes in the trunk lid that received two prongs from the old emblem. So I had no choice but to use the new ones.

Anyways, To remove them, I used a hair drier, heated the emblem up until the glue underneath the emblem felt gooey. I carefully pried it off, and then, spent about an hour trying to get the glue residue off the paint. I finally got it all off by dry rubbing the glue with a rag until it dissapeared (kinda like removing rubber cement).

There are two holes in the rear hatch of the 05-06 X where the burger logo is. It's not bolted though, they are just to line it up.

If you want to take it off, hit it with a heat gun (hair dryer) and then use dental floss and saw it off. Use WD40 to remove the remaining adhesive, wash the area and wax it good.
