No need in putting on airs for me sir. I like a man who isn't afraid to let it all hang out. Although, yes it would be nice if he smelled good doing it.

Cool.

Now I do have to ask, and maybe all you girls can answer this. What was the reason for picking the Xterra over all the other SUVs out there? There does seem to be a big trend that X drivers are mostly female.

BTW, check out www.westpasxterraclub.com, it's a small group of X owners in Western PA (Mostly South West, but there are a few from up north).

Personally I've just always loved the look of the X... they're very sleek and sexy.

Most everyone already knows that I work for GM, but I HATE the SUVs we make... I have no interest in a Tahoe, and a Suburban is just too damn big for what I need... I could have saved a lot of money by getting a GM but chose to spend more to get what I wanted... the X has just enough room without over doing it, and it looks sporty while being functional.

So the Trail Blazer didn't even get concideration?

I had actually thought about a trail blazer when I was thinking about buying an SUV then I actually took a look at it and didn't like it.

I have always wanted a Suburban, but they are way too much and now with gas prices I am glad I didn't go that route.

Trailblazer, NEVER.... I wouldn't own one if you paid me.... I work on them every day and see all the problems that come with them.. even the new ones are shit.

the Suburban is just too big for what I need... I don't have 5 kids or anything... just a spoiled dog that likes to travel :)

My Boss told me that my X was "adorable".

The reason I got the X was because, A: it was in my price range. B: I liked the way it looked. and C. It was the perfect size. Not to big, not to small

Those are some of the reason I got it. But I also want to trail a motorcycle.

Oh yeah, hello to the new member.

I agree, I just like the looks of it. Plus the price was right. But, It could use more power. I'm not a speed demon, but, it certainly lacks muscle.

Did you test drive a 2005 or 2006? It's got plenty of giddup, but more would be fun.

I agree wit the power thing. I thought putting a K&N (OE style) filter in it would help but it didn't. So know I am on a tune up kick. I changed the fuel filter next I will change the spark plug and wire. I was thinking about getting another intake system. I thought about doing a cat back exhaust, but I don't want to get into all that. After all my speed will come from a motorcycle.

You know what did help my in the power/torque department was putting in a bottle of the fuel system/injector cleaner. It seems to change things the next day.

What do you plan on for your X? Any modications, off road it or anything?

My '03 has got plenty of get up and go... of course, I'm used to little 4 cylinder cars... a V6 offers a lot more leway there....

I don't really offroad anymore than driving a few dirt roads to go hiking.I spend more time out of the xterra than in it. I really do a lot of outdoor stuff the xterra just provides the room to store the stuff I need. Camping gear etc.

Ya know what, I bought the X for pretty much the same reason and then found off roading and found out how much fun it is.
