I hated having loose stuff in the back of the truck, and having to strap it all down, so I built a box to keep all my wheeling junk in.

It's 6" tall, carpeted on the outside, and the inside is sprayed with a rubberized undercoating.

Here's the pics:

Sweet idea! I'll have to build mine small enough to make room for my sub though.

That's a home-made rack. Referred to as a "lobo rack".

I'm not too worried about the weight, it's a bit heavy - maybe 50 lb, but it's worth it.

If I were to do it over again, I'd probably make it 8" tall instead of 6"

Yup, the wire shelf is the Lobo Mod... It's just 12" wire shelving, by 4' long, I just had to clip a couple of the thin wires off the sides to fit it into the cargo hooks. (I got the 4' length at home depot for $5.92)

In the front (meaning toward the front of the vehicle) the ends of the shelf go through the cargo hooks and act like a hinge so the shelf can actually hang down (my cargo net holds the stuff on)

The side of the shelf toward the back of the vehicle is on the carabiners hooked to the rear cargo hooks.
