I just bought my first Xterra - 2008 SE 4x4 in Red Alert - on Friday. I love driving it and just looking at it! I've admired the Xterra for some time, but the lower gas mileage had me a little apprehensive, especially now. However, you only live once so I finally gave in to temptation. Many other SUVs have gotten so incredibly ugly over the past few years and the Xterra still looks awesome, and gets great reviews in the 2008 Consumer Reports Car Guide. I had also read of others complaining that the ride is rough, but I don't see that at all. I drove to work at 70+ mph and it felt like I was floating. I can't wait to take it through the Adirondacks.
The Xterra is a bit higher than the CR-V (also liked a lot) that I just sold, and I'm barely 5'2". Fortunately I added the protection package with side rails. In addition to aiding my ability to get in and out, they look really cool.:fantastic:

Thanks. I added myself to the map. I haven't had a chance to take pics yet. By the time the dealer/DMV stuff was done on Friday, I had a little time to take a ride and then had to come home and get ready to work all weekend. It has rained yesterday and today as well. I'm hoping I can take some pics this week.
