I am going to replace my plugs and I was looking at both types. Does anybody have any thoughts on this?

i put NGK iridiums in my truck, noticed a slight difference, mostly in mpg, if you can, get the colder spark, i cant remember which out of BKR5 and BKR6 is the hotter spark, chances are that the ones you have are the hotter spark.
oh yea, NGK is nissan oem

ngk plugs are backwards from the others, the higher the number the colder the spark and the lower the number the hotter the spark.

I've been searching online for the BKR6 and can't seem to find them. I can find the BKR5 and IFR5E.

Here's the 2 links, for what I'm talking about.

BKR5E (http://www.sparkplugs.com/more_info.asp?AAIA=1374588&pid=2950)

IFR5E (http://www.sparkplugs.com/more_info.asp?AAIA=1374588&pid=3722)

Also found these Champion and Denso.

9202 (http://www.sparkplugs.com/more_info.asp?AAIA=1374588&pid=19846)

IK20 (http://www.sparkplugs.com/more_info.asp?AAIA=1374588&pid=9673)

The NGK IFR5E and the Denso plugs are both $11+. Is it worth it? What's the major difference?

90,000? More like 3000 IME. I put new spark plugs in once and I thought that they were the best thing since sliced bread. Well, I only thought that for a short amount of time.

I had Bosch platinum + 4 in there. I found out after they were in, that they are highly discouraged. Well, the first 3K, they were awesome. After that, they lost their zing.

I pulled them and expected the worst. Everyone made it seem like they were going to be fouled and melted and what not, but they actually looked alright. The point is, the initial kick wore off quickly.

I now have some middle of the line NGK' s in there and there was no initial kick. My truck is slow and everything I do to it makes it slower too.

I can't comment on the iridium vs platinum but if you want a better spark go with copper because it conducts better. The downside of copper is that it doesn't last as long and the plugs would need changing every 10K miles.

The idea of plugs fossilizing in the heads for 100K doesn't really appeal to me and on the 3.3 V6 nor does changing number 6 every 10K. Going copper give 10 times the chance of stripping the threads and I am not sure the fuel saving or performance would be even measurable.

the way i was always told is you use the same origin spark plugs as the vehicle i.e jap bike = NGK, Nissan xterra = NGK, corvette = champion, Harley = champion... LOL all the others are trash no matter what anyone else has to say about it...
