i have and xe vinyl type steering wheel and i got a hold of a leather 02 x steering i know when i looked it up on courtesy parts they are same style just diffrent materials so now i need to found out how to remove piece by piece and put back on anyone ever does this please help thank you i know the main this is removing the airbag and after that it some bolts but still help would be great pics even better thank u

you will need a steering wheel puller.....

Make sure you disconnect your battery and the fuse for the air-bag. That's about all I can help you with on this one. lol

I agree. I did my first steering wheel the other day. I honest DO NOT recommend the swap for fear of messing up the airbag. One time I tried taking apart the steering wheel on my MR2 and the airbag light has been on ever since

And...make sure you put it back on the right splines so that you still keep it center. I haven't taken one off an xterra, but I know VW's are that way.

Most steering shafts have a little mark in them to indicate top center, so even if you don't scribe the wheel/shaft relationship you can figure it out.

how do you get the airbag out?? not that I want to but just curious, I have removed plenty of steering wheels on older cars but never on a car with an airbag..

ok got the pulley now i wanna know if the steering wheel i got came with radio controls . how could i adapt that to my stereo (alpine 9857)(using a SWI-JACK) i know my stero except its but the steering has 2 wires orange and red coming from the controls is it that way all the way to the radio or does it have a converter of some sort ??? mainly whats the diagram from the steering wheel to the radio for that ?? thank you
PS my car origanlly does not have radio controls from the steering but with the leather steering wheel i would love too.
