what is this bracket that attaches the body mount to the body??? do i ditch it or is it something I need to rig up to work with the BL.. Like I was saying I have already done (2) BL's and I didnt see this on either...
cbzdel 04-03-2008, 05:19 PM bump.. anyone?? i am starting this tomorrow night and really dont want to screw it up lol...
Ricer-X 04-03-2008, 05:28 PM i dunno what it is
never done a BL on an X either though
cbzdel 04-03-2008, 05:36 PM i can only image it being a support to give the body a little something extra to hold onto if an impact happened...
thats it i am going to a grocery store parking lot to see what other xterras have!!!! haha
Drake 04-03-2008, 07:16 PM I just did my BL a few weeks ago and I have no idea what that could be or what that could be for. There's no cables or hoses running along there so I don't know what it would be holding.
Definitely a new one on me.:hmm:
punkrockdrummerx 04-03-2008, 07:40 PM beats me...I have never seen anything like this.
Drake 04-03-2008, 08:00 PM Is this xterra possibly a salvage where they took two halves and put them together?
I was looking really close and it almost looks like it could be a scab plate to take the strain off of the weld that would be holding them together.
It's a shot in the dark but it's the best guess I can come up with.
Anthony 04-04-2008, 01:40 AM I've helped on 4 body lifts, including my own, and I've never seen that bracket before.
soccerbrace 04-04-2008, 02:01 AM I have done a million body lifts. This is just some support. I like it and I wish mine had it.
Keep it Chris.
There are 2 bolts on the side. just loosen those but do not remove them.
You want to just have it loose while you are putting the new bolt back in.
Having it tight will make it hard to center.
There is one one the opposite side too. This is for the upward pointing middle and there is no interference with Brake lines etc.
I answered this before with the quick reply right after you asked it but apparently it did not go through
cbzdel 04-04-2008, 09:45 AM cool guys thanks for the help!! I guess we will have to stop and get some more longer bolts and spacers then :(
oh and this X has a perfectly clean title, we have know the original owner since it was bought, he bough it brand new from a Nissan dealer in Arizona while on a trip and drive it back home to Washington, its an XE with every optional available.. I still dont know what it could be though....
soccerbrace 04-04-2008, 10:00 AM All it is is a brace, and you do not have to buy longer bolts. It is only like 1mm thick
cbzdel 04-04-2008, 10:17 AM you sure about that james?? here i am trying to piece this together, please excuse my paint art lol...

soccerbrace 04-04-2008, 10:48 AM Yeah Derrrr!!!!
Wasn't thinking!
The last body lift I did was a partial one because I had to leave early.
He had those on there.
That was the first time I saw that too. Not a big deal....ditch them.
Haha, first I said keep them,, now I am saying ditch em'
Mah bad!
I am being retarded today!
