Good afternoon, everyone. I'm Julie Sturgeon, and I help out with marketing at 4x4Parts.com. Lady Nissan and I have been friends since high school ... and no, I won't reveal what year we graduated. <grin>

I'll be hanging out trying to answer questions or pass along any news we have. If I'm not here, I'm probably watching college basketball, so we can always discuss that, too. :thumbsup-big: Go, Hoosiers!

I've admired Joe Pa. I have a good friend who is a Penn State alum and bought his football tickets for the past 30 years.

I think people are on an emotional rant at the moment, and I would have preferred to see the coach wait until the dust clears. We don't know what was and wasn't reported, what he was told, etc.

But I will say this: Joe Pa is going out on HIS terms. He gets to say he retired. Unlike Bob Knight who got the f word on his record. In the end, that was very, very ugly. I'm glad PSU fans won't have to go through that roller coaster.

If he knew, does he deserve that though?

There is evidence that points that way, but admittedly nothing concrete at the moment. Either way, the question is being the head of the program shouldn't he have known?

I think this is going to unfold in a hurry. And it's getting really ugly.

You have valid points, Mac11. I guess not being a PSU alum, I have the patience to wait and see in a court of law and other "official" venues what happened and who knew what before I solidify my opinion. ESPN isn't exactly my idea of a fair trial.

I say this because several years after Bob Knight was fired, his version of the story was collaborated -- by the student who was at the heart of it. Kid finally admitted the entire thing was blown out of proportion by his stepdad and he wasn't slammed up against a wall or yelled at or anything.

But you don't get that answer in the heat of the moment and the tv spotlight right in your eyeballs.

Well, espn is a crackerjack network these days anyway. If it weren't for E:60 I wouldn't even know the channel number.

The grand jury report is out for public consumption reading. It's pretty sick.

It is sad this is all happening at that great university. My Dad is a Penn State Alumn and I grew up in graduate housing as my Dad got his Masters Degree there. I have been a huge PSU fan since then.

Wish JoePa doesn't have to retire....

Ah, Mac, you aren't crapping on it. I understand that people are upset. I also have very good friends who have been Penn State football ticket holders for 30 years. They are also in pain, and a lot of it from shock. There's just no easy answer to this from either side.

And as I alluded to, having gone through the media circus and ugliness when Bob Knight was fired ... well, I understand how torn you can be. There are few loyalties as strong as those to your college sports teams.
