So I've been searching for aftermarket/upgraded suspension parts, specifically anti-sway bars and strut bars , if they even exist for these cars. I've been searching for to upgrade antisway bars and maybe front strut bar to help my wife's Xterra. If anyone can help with links, and or advice . This is my wife's DD and will in no way go off roading ,just on camping trips or cross country driving. Thanks!

I doubt there is much support for them as most Xterra owners ditch the rear and some even remove the front.

if this is just a DD you shouldn't worry too much. Consumer report rating the xterra very safe car. Unless she is's taking off ramps at 80mph

Im lifted with a 2" body lift and 1.5 lift without a sway bar, I don't' worry about it too much.

Your wife has a body on frame truck, not a car...and, adding that stuff won't do much.

:D

Better TIRES and SHOCKS and TORSION BARS will make more of a difference than anything for what you describe.

She drives a 2000 X if your sig is right.....so the t-bars might be a bit saggy by now, and going to 300M versions, or at least newer slightly thicker bars, will firm up the front control.

Going to (firmer) Bilsteins, 5100's in back and HD's in front, will also add back a lot of control.

Getting some GOOD tires under there, with a wide tread contact patch for braking and handling traction/stability....will add back control.

This will make the truck drive more precisely, with less body roll and more control....which is what it sounds like your objective is.

Make sure the front sway bar's bushings are intact...after over a decade of wear and tear, they typically are not in good shape...you can get replacement bushings/upgraded replacement bushings for them...and that will reduce the play on the front sway bar (And often cure some squeaking if that's an issue too...).

Don't worry about the rear sway bar...it can still be chucked....it doesn't really prevent sway it seems, but it does seem to break the rear passenger side shock, and do some other bad things....so, there's no advantage to it....and all the added control is from the FRONT end on these rigs.

Also -

Don't put stuff on the roof, it makes the truck sway more.

Make sure the tire pressures are appropriate for your loads/speeds/load range of the tire, etc. (IE: NOT what it says on the sidewall OR on the door jamb placard)

So any reason why the rear sway bar brake the shocks? Faulty bushings or bad design?
My wife's Xterra had complete suspension including tires replaced about 2 years ago prior to going across the US of A. I looked into replacing the bushings for both rear and front sway bars and I'll look into the torsion bars..Thank you.

Addco makes a front and rear sway bar for 00-04 Xterras.

Part # 2056 (1 1/8" diameter) for the front and # 2031 (7/8" diameter) for the rear.
