One last time so I don't really screw up!!

I am planning on getting the new shoes this weekend. Thank you tax man...I know it's my money they are sending back, but I'd have spent it otherwise.

I am getting Mud King XT 265/75/16 tires for a 2005 Xterra 4X4 with no mods at all.

Am I going to have rubbing problems? If so, can I do a little grinding to eliminate them?

You can go up to 33 without trimming and I say do it. You are only going with 31.6's

I will get some prices today!! Thanks! The bigger the better. The mud here in Mississippi and over in Alabama where I hunt is pretty thick, so The more traction I can get, the better!

I can go with 33x12.5 16's?

Sure can! And I recommend you do!

With the 12.5 you MIGHT run into some rubbing, but 10.5 should work no problem. I personally would go with 12.5 though. And hey, guess what, if it is a little too close for comfort, you can always lift your X. I KNOW that sounds appealing to you!

So, you are in Alabama? We have a guy in Alabama who loves to go wheeling. His name is Drake. Great guy always looking for more xterra friends and I think that you are a good candidate.

Do yourself a favor while you are at it, and click on user CP up top, and add your location and in your signature, put the year of your Xterra.

May I change the title of the thread to "2nd gen. tire question, buying this weekend!"? I think that will give it more exposure.

It is great to have you here!!-James

Hello fellow southerner! Where are you located in the MS? I'm up in North Alabama not far off of I-65 in Decatur/Priceville.

Go with the 12.5's and then click here for the "melt mod" to do your trimming if needed:

Wider tires IMO look much better plus it gives you a bigger footprint when you're in that great Alabama red dirt a.k.a. bearing killer. hahaha

I am in Greenwood, MS. About 80 miles north of Jackson. I am from Mobile, and I went to Bama and South Alabama.
