Would something like this work without having to modify anything??

thats a tough call man, just bc its the same engine, the engine is in a far different platform, its likely that the exhaust is run different being that the engine bay is different, there is less room on the 240 than the xterra, etc.

i guess the best way for you to check is to compare the STOCK exhaust mani from the 240 and the xterra and see if they are the same

edit: what i'd really liek to see, is you swap a KA24DET into that X, that would be flippin sweet!

Yea that would be cool but im still trying to save my gas mileage. right now i get 21 in town and 28 Hwy. I have sent an email to the company tha tmakes the header to see if they will research this further.

ok, i was gonna suggest a tranny cooler, but yo shiz isnt auto so nvm

go to www.autopartswarehouse.com or some similar site, and look at the stock header for both vehicles and see if the part numbers are the same

Damn im am just having the hardest time trying to find a header. Looked into trying to compair the stock header for the 240 sx but no one sells them with the same brand for the xterrra to compair.....

I tried to contact the company for the header i found for the 240sx and they were just flakes they state that their may be some need for modification for the headers that are made for the specific vehicle to work on that vehicle. Could be a direct bolt on, could not. What a crappy answer i think.

Damn I would be more than happy with 28 MPG!! is your only other performance mod the intake??

Yep, and after testing i think my MPG is better now too! but havent been able to test the HWY miles but in town has went up about a mile a gallon.

After i get the exhaust i wanna dyno it and see if im close to you 6 cyl guys, well stock anyways.

If i can get as much Torque as you guys i may take the time to make it a 4x4

you will end up losing a good amount of power if you do a 4x4 conversion on it.. i dont really wanna go searching for it, do you know what the hp/tq specs are on a stock 4 banger?? do you have any pics of your engine bay?? I have never even see what the 4 banger looks like before...

143 Hp vs 180 i know it wont be the same and I will still have less HP compaired. Also wouldnt adding 4 wheel drive only affect it if 4 wheel drive was engaged? I have plenty of low end i dont think this will be an issue.

adding 4wd will cut the power even when its in 2wd because the power is being fed though the transfer case.. i dont know how much of a loss you will notice, I jsut know that 2 equal cars 1 being 2wd and 1 being 4wd, the 2wd car would be faster... plus 4wd is adding a decent amount of weight..

Yes that makes perfect sence. The added weight would also make a difference

I have been doing alot of performance research lately, and I came accross that Pacesetter makes a header for the 2.4L yet they say its for the Fronty.. I dont see why is wouldnt work, personally I say go for it, its just under $200 then get a custom exhaust raouted off of, or try to hook it up to your stock exhaust...

you dont "Swap" in a ka24det... ka24de motors have to be custom turbo'd...

just thought id let you know :)

a sr20det swap would be nice.

pace setter frontier headers. go to 4x4parts.com , click performance, go to headers, click frontier, and there is a list of them. click on 2.4l 2wd manual trans. they arent available in CA so im screwed but meh.

Has anyone had any luck modding the frontier 5sp 2wd for ka24de pacesetter headers for the Xterra. I have a crack on my stock exhaust manifold, and instead of replacing, I want to put headers on. Also, I live in Cali, so there's the risk of not passing inspection if they notice them, so I want to make it look like it is stock, anyone have any knowledge on this?
