Hello everyone.

Weird problem here.

I have a 2006 Xterra with the Sirus Sat., 6 CD changer and Fosgate stereo. The pre-wired iPod adaptor was a major selling point.

All factory, no modifications.

I went to have the iPod adaptor installed, but the dealer says the necessary N-Bus, pre-wired connector is missing. The factory forgot to wire it, or worse yet, there could be mis-wiring in the harness that could lead to a fire. (E.g., the N-Bus harness wiring was left dangling somewhere else during the assembly process).

Has anyone else experiencd this issue? Had a fire under the dash?

Nissan says "too bad" we just forgot it.

I would like to hear from anyone else who has this specific issue.

I think you should call Nissan's Consumer Affairs hot-line.

Yea, I called them twice and got the usual run-around. Basically, I'm S-out of luck. To be honest, they cared less and never even got back to me.

My only option is to put in a new stero.

Found an attorney who is willing to pursue this matter.

It "could" be that Nissan did not (with knowledge) install these connectors on multiple vehicles. This would of course, constitute fraud if they knew (via quality checks) and still advertised vehicles with the connectors. I need everyone to check your Nissans for this N-Bus connector, if it was supposed to be wired in your vehicle. For the 06 Xterra, it is a white connector, taped very close to the hood release lever/cable under the dash. It is usually taped to the N-Bus cables that run through the same area. It could effect the resale value, not to mention, LIKE ME, YOU PAID FOR THE UPGRADED STEREO SYSTEM TO HAVE THIS OPTION.
