hello, my a/c seems to be intermittent. i will hit the button, i hear it activate, then it shuts off maybe 5 seconds later. it waits for about a minute, then kicks back on for another 5 seconds. any ideas? thanks

Sounds like a leak take a look at the lines that go to the compressor they will be on the drivers side where they change from metal to rubber is were they leak at I had to replace both my high side and low side lines.

As already said, check the rubber hoses (or whatever they are made of) for an oily film. They are known to become porous and leak. A top up with refrigerant will temporarily fix that.
Another thing to go wrong with the AC is the Thermal Control Amplifier. It is located by/in the evaporator and can be fiddly to get out/in. I believe it costs around $30 from a dealer.

hey well I got it fixed. It was indeed the thermal control amp although the dealership has some special name for it. I installed it yesterday and drove down to la from where I'm at in the bay area. It gradually got better and about halfway down it stayed on and has been working no problem since. So I'll see how it plays out
