Have an '06 4x4 automatic X model... it does NOT have the Dana 44...how strong is this other axle...and can anyone tell me spline count, c-clips or no c-clips... will 33" tires be too big over the long term??
Any info is appreciated...thanks!

The axle is a C200. I do not know any of the specifics on the axle, but I have an email in to the local dealer service guy to see if he knows. It will be stong enough to handle 33's without a problem though.

That is good...I know in my past Jeeps...the standard Dana 35 would not hold up long term with 33's... too much stress....

the rear axle in the xterra is very similer to the ford 9in, toyota 8in, and the dodge 8 3/4. i have a friend with a 1981 toyota running 35s and has done so for years, and the 8 3/4 was used in dodge muscle cars. big block = torque. and there is nothing more one can say about the legendary ford 9 in

Only the Off Road package comes with the lockable Sudo dana 44 in both Auto and Standard.

I just love driving standard
