: Anyone hear if PRG is ok?

And by OK, I don't mean are the products good because I know they're awesome.

I mean I wanted to find out if anyone knew if Greg was literally OK?

I've been trying to get a hold of Greg about the leaf spring pack for my X. I got an email back from him beginning of August, the 3rd I think, that the leaf springs were out of stock. Greg apologized, got in touch a week later that they were still out of stock, so I left it alone for a few weeks.

Though now I've been trying to a hold of him for two weeks about getting my springs and I haven't heard anything back from him. I know that about this time last year was hell for him, so I hope things are going alright now. I just thought I'd ask to be sure before I keep bugging him.

Last I heard he was taking some time to take care of his kid. But has been busy and I know recently he had worked on a few new products. Give him sometime I am sure he is in the same boat as creepy, need to spend a little more time with the family and a little less killing himself on the job. :D

It's been another month now. About 3 weeks ago Greg sent me a mail letting me know the springs were in stock and that he'd be shipping me mine real soon. A week went by, I didn't receive any springs, and Greg hasn't been responding to my emails again. I've been sending him mails about once every week or two, so I don't think I've been out of line or overboard with pestering.

I'm getting a bit freaked out. I wanted to put those springs on my truck about three months ago and still haven't gotten anything which is a bummer... but the thing that freaks me out the most is not getting any replies or being kept up to date on what's taking so long.

I'm kind of at a loss over what to do about this.

Yep, sometimes you just have to unplug for a bit, lol. However I do still try to respond to emails as soon as possible.

I do hope everything's ok.

Yeah especially now that it is officially November and I still haven't heard anything from him.

I've ended up in a pickle. My tires are shredding, I really need new ones, but I don't want to to spend the money to get stock sized tires and the get the lift on in a week and need upgraded tires. I was thinking about getting used tires, but even then the price ended up being way more than just ordering another spring pack from Greg. So that's what I did. Maybe it will get his attention and we can finally get the previous account sorted lol!

well you can fit 285 75 16 stock with no lift. and until a ts is done thats about as big as you can get without MAJOR fender trim. so i say go ahead and get the tires but do a melt mod first

Those will fit stock? That's pretty cool.

I already purchased the wheels, I got American Outlaw Shotguns (http://www.discounttiredirect.com/direct/wheels/american_outlaw/product/submitProductSize.do?pc=23084&typ=Truck&tmn=Shotgun) that are 17x9-10. I wanted to put Nitto Terragrapplers on it that are 285/70-17 which should be just about exactly the same size as 285/75-16 tires... but discount keeps tell me they won't fit with the -10 offset until the lift is on. (Actually they're giving me nervousness over running them even with the lift.) I'm not positive about what the stock offset is on the Xterra... I suppose I could just google search the forum...

+38 offset is stock, so we're looking at almost a 50mm difference which is a hair off 2 inches. So without a lift think that will hurt wheel arch or cause scraping and such? I think I've heard of someone running -25 offset on their X, but I don't know what they had to do for it.

Think I should go ahead and just get the tires, put them on the wheels and get everything installed without the lift, or wait?

i have no idea about wheel offset. hopefully someone with more knowledge of offset will cherp in.

if it sticks out almost 2in wider you have need some minor fender bending/trim on the inside well at the bottom but i think if u just pull the plastic liner off and then bend it back like an inch or so and then put the liner back it might work. but like i said im not so sure about how the offsets work

Cool deal, thanks for the input.

If the Nittos don't work my second choice were GoodYear Wrangler 275/70s... (No TerraGrapplers in that size sadly) Those would probably be the safest bet, but definitely if anyone around knows more about offset please let me know if they think the 285/70s would be good or need modding on a stock or 2" lifted Xterra.

Thanks!

maybe change the name of the thread to offset q's to draw more attention to that question

My second order from PRG did arrive last week so I should have that put on and some good pictures taken soon.

(I went ahead and picked up the Nitto Terra Grapplers 285s - Really excited over how all that's going to look when it's put on!)

I sent an email to Greg letting him know that I had placed a second order and asked him to please get back to me so we could settle the first order and I can get refunded - but again no responses even after the second order arrived.

I'm really glad that I finally got the parts that I wanted, but it's still leaving me with mixed feelings over how everything was handled.

Ordered a set of PRG adjustable shackles a few weeks ago and got them quick.

Talked to Greg on the phone last Thursday about my Radflos. I just bought a nitrogen tank, and I couldn't remember what pressure the shocks needed to be set at. FYI, the rear Radflos are much lower psi than the fronts (80-100psi in the rear vs 200-250psi in the front).

Yeah my last order from PRG came in quick, like less than a week which was awesome. It was just my first order that was never resolved and I never heard anything back on which was weird.

Oh well, I got my AALs which I really wanted, and now I have a set of adjustable shackles as well by accident that I'll either use or sell once I have access to post on the for sale forum here. I know the PRG shackles are a lot stronger than the stock shackles, but I really can't have this thing lifted any more than 2" or my family is really going to start complaining that they can't get in it. Heck they complained about the stock height!

:laugh-big:

Wouldn't matter much except we got it under the pretense that it would kind of be the family vehicle...

I didn't go too crazy, just went with the Bilstein 5150 rear shocks from PRG and those have made a huge improvement over the cheap Monroes that were in the back, but they've also made it obvious that the front shocks are terribly squishy. Replacing the front end with Bilstein 5100s to hopefully even everything out and get this mini lift finalized.

Everything's finally installed! The ride is great and the wheels and tires came out looking pretty cool, they're just a little too clean for the rest of the truck - will have to do something about that soon

Final set up looks like PRG AALs with Bilstein 5125s in the rear (not 5150 as I typoed in the last post) and Bilstein 5100 leveling shocks in the front set to 1". It looks as though 1" might not be enough height... but the rear seems to sag pretty good if I'm carrying any weight (like the old tires...) so it was perfectly level on the way home.

I never did get a response from Greg so I could send the parts I'm not using back. Looks like I'm going to have a few parts for sale...

If anyone wants dibs on brand new PRG adjustable shackles or a pair of front spacers with about 100 miles on them let me know.

All in all though, I'm really happy with the way it looks and handles.
