: Portland Xterra club?
SPZXterra 08-20-2011, 03:44 PM So I'm new to the forum and Xterras (just bought a 2011 pro 4x yesterday) and I've been trying to find a local Xterra club. The only one I found is totally inactive and hasn't been updated since early last year sometime. So I'm just wondering if there are any others, and if not, If there would be enough interested here to maybe start up a new one. I'd be interested doing monthly outings, camping, etc
Any info helps!!
Thanks everyone ahead of time!
xtacular 08-20-2011, 04:59 PM I'm not aware of anything official. There has definitely been some talk of meeting up around here (I'm in Battle Ground), and there's a PNWX2 Facebook group, but no meets yet.
I would definitely be down for camping or whatever!
mudlover55 08-20-2011, 10:59 PM me too!
SPZXterra 08-20-2011, 11:25 PM I'm definitely interested guys, Lets throw some dates around and see where we all fit in at, I'd love to go in the next couple weeks or atleast in the next month or so.
xtacular 08-21-2011, 10:18 AM Maybe we could all get together for a beer and check out each others Xs, or we could go straight to camping? I'm busy this coming weekend but any weekend after that would work for me (except labor day).
miskywhisky 08-21-2011, 12:33 PM Someone say beer? I'm game, just not labor day weekend for me either.
LuvMyDux 08-21-2011, 12:59 PM I used to see some Xterras up at Brown's camp wheeling from time to time. I think there's a group from the Portland area but they're on another forum for 05+ X.
xtacular 08-21-2011, 02:20 PM Yeah MudLover's part of that group I believe.
SPZXterra 08-22-2011, 12:25 PM Meet up for a beer this week? I was thinking about checking out some trails this coming sunday, and trying to get a camping trip for the following. Weekend of the 2nd.

I am part of that group as well. We've been busy this year and our main group leader (surf & snow on thenewX) went on a huge road trip and has weddings pretty much every weekend for who knows how long.
I am up for meeting for dinner/drinks sometime, we just need to find a middle for us all. There are fellow 05+ owners, that I can get a hold of, that are willing to meet up, just need to give enough time ahead.
Muddypenguin 09-02-2011, 11:15 AM I dont live near portland, I'm in the Eugene area. There are a ton of X's driving around so I made up some cards to put on windows to try and drum up some interest.. Trying to form a Mid Willamette Valley Xterra club.
mindie 09-15-2011, 07:04 PM Hey guys. If you follow things over at thenewx, this isn't news. In case there are some folks here that haven't seen the storm going on lately, I just want to clear something up:
PNWX (Pacific Northwest Xterra club) is not dead.
The last post on our website was made in December last year, which people have assumed meant we were out of commission, but we're not. A simple email to us could have cleared this up before it turned into an issue. As explained on the site, we have a private BB, which anyone can get access to by following the instructions on our Join page. There is no charge associated with gaining access to our boards. In the past we've charged dues purely to cover costs of t-shirts, stickers, and other fun stuff; right now we're running with such positive cash flow that we're not even charging dues.
Please take a look and if you're interested in an Xterra club in Oregon and Washington, join the official PNWX. If you have any questions, I'll be happy to answer them.

00XterraDude 11-08-2011, 01:31 AM It will be nice to have a meet and greet somewhere and have a few drinks and check out each others X...
mindie 11-08-2011, 11:16 PM Post up a day/time/place and see who responds. We're usually available to meet up for some grub. What part of town are you in?
00XterraDude 11-09-2011, 09:37 PM I live in the Portland area. How about you? and to the other X out there?
bowlerx 11-10-2011, 09:25 AM im in vancouver and would be down to hang out with some fellow x owners. let me know if anyone would be down!
porsche4786 11-10-2011, 10:04 AM I would be up for a meet if its not too far from the Portland/Beaverton area.
bowlerx 11-10-2011, 12:20 PM are there any kind of trails or spots to wheel by beaverton?
LuvMyDux 11-10-2011, 01:15 PM Wheeling spots by Beaverton, not really any. You have to go out to Brown's camp if you want to hit the trails. Brown's Camp is about 40 mins away. Get on youtube and search "brown's camp." Some cool vids and even a guy with a X. I used to go there all the time but sold my dirt bike and my offroader.
PDXTERRA82 11-13-2011, 11:09 PM Just bought Xterra Live in PDX and interested in being a part of a Portland group. PM and let me know what the plans are if any.
SPZXterra 11-14-2011, 10:33 AM Just figured I'd shoot a update out there, There are 2 local Xterra groups here in the Northwest. PNWX and NWX. PNWX has more local Portland members, While NWX is more Washington members, or at-least thats what I've noticed.
Just did Barlow rd few weekends ago out at mount hood with one of the PNWX guys. Was good time, played in the snow, and just a nice drive. I'll put some pics up tonight.
I'm down to wheel sometime if you want, or just get a beer! let me know man

There are a few different ways to keep track of what our club is up to--private message board, Facebook--and info/links posted on the main page there. I try to keep up with a few different boards like this, but there's always the chance of something slipping by, so it might help for you to be on the lookout in a couple different places, too.
Some of the wheeling areas around here become impassable as snow falls, and with other winter hobbies people have, wheeling trips have historically taken a backseat during the winter months. We can still get together socially for food and drinks though. Feel free to make suggestions yourself!
