Welcome to Club Xterra!

The purpose of this sticky is just a semi-virtual tour of what you can find here at Club Xterra.

The active links should open in a new window so that this thread will remain open and you won't have to hit your back button to return here.

Top Menu Bar Options:

http://www.clubxterra.org/index.php

Home: This is just what it is. It's home. The launching point to all your xterra questions and desires. The home page contains multiple tables containing basic info such as:

-the monthly calendar (with event dates highlighted)
-sponsor ads (how the admin pays the bills to keep our little niche of the web up and running)
-your user control panel status (new posts, last visit, messages)
-quick site navigation menu (quicklinks to the top four club features)
-club stats (members, threads, posts, top poster and newest member welcome)
-online user status (total users both member and non and the standing user record)
-today's birthdays table (displays the members who celebrate a birthday on that day)
-current active poll in the forums
-the official club xterra welcome
-and the most recently active threads (the last 15 active threads).

Forums: The place where we piss off our bosses and spend countless hours posting and reading anything and everything xterra. And even stuff not related to xterra. From how-to's and member's rides to jokes and club news. You'll find it here.

http://www.clubxterra.org/forums/usercp.php

User CP: Here you can edit your profile and custom settings for CX. This also is where you will find your CX mailbox where you can communicate with other members. And even see your latest reputation points that were received for helping out (or pissing off) fellow CX members. Comes complete to a forum jump drop-down menu where you can go straight from your CP to a specific forum.

Member's Gallery: Here is your very own photo gallery for your Xterra. Sort of a portfolio for all members to see your rig. You can post all of your mods, features and any other bells and whistles you have on your xterra. Very helpful for people shopping for xterras and xterra mods.

Search: The ever-so-useful search function. Type your keywords here to search the entire forums for all posts containing that word or you can go to the advanced search to do a more specific search.

http://www.clubxterra.org/forums/search.php?searchid=30266&pp=25&page=2&nojs=1#user cptools (http://www.clubxterra.org/forums/search.php?searchid=30266&pp=25&page=2&nojs=1#usercptools)

Quick Link: Drop-down menu which allows you to leapfrog through the club website. You can access new posts, private messages, your buddy list, control panel and several other areas in Club Xterra.

Hope this will help familiarize you with what CX has to offer.

The moderators/admin are working every day to streamline, tweak and implement ideas for the club to make it the most popular and most helpful site dedicated to the xterras and the people that own them.

If you have issues, comments or questions about the site itself, pm a moderator and let us know what you think.

How do i start my own thread?

Drake

Select the forum topic that you want to post in and click on the "New Thread" button at the upper left of the page.

Say for instance you want to ask about what type of transmission fluid to use in your X, go to the section titled "Scheduled or Preventative Maintenance". This will take you to the thread list in that section and above the list at the left corner is a "New Thread" button. Click on it and it will open a blank thread for you to start.

Welcome to CX!

Thanks in advance for your just being here for folks like me.
I'm about as novice as they come.
I am a Datsun owner from way back.
First vehicle was 1980 Datsun diesel pick-up. Extremely small and slow.
Then I found an '83 280zx (non-turbo) 2.8. Quite an upgrade. but still, small.
Got it used in '90, had 37k mil. and equipped w/whale tail. Left the tail on
just because it made it unique. Nicer than a rear window wiper, anyway.
Then, came the ads for the 'go anywhere' Xterra. Great colors! But, to save
a little, bought used. Didn't know about carfax back then. Paid 20k @ 13%
from CarMax. I know, I know. 13%!!!! Don't know why I didn't pound my fist on the salesmans desk for a better rate. Gimme, gimme, gimme, now, now, now! Life of the loan, paid 30k total. But business was good and could afford
it. Re-fi you say? Just never got around to it. Enough for now. Just had to
get my cherry busted. Been reading here a lot, tho. Some great posts, and
post'ers'. Having a lot of problems. Will post them in the proper forum. -Rick.

how do i post a profile pic?

Use the "User CP" link near the top of the page. Then under settings & options click on the "edit avatar" link.
But you have an avatar already so I'm not sure I understand your question.

EDIT: Same User CP link but at the top on the left under profile there is a link for editing your profile pic

Just purchased a 2012 PRO4X in black and so far so good. Second Nissan in the family but first for me. I've always loved Subaru but recently they've gone the way of building grandpa cars and I'm not quite there yet.

I've gone through this site since last week and would like to thank those in charge for taking the time. I don't know anything about the business of forums but I'm guessing that the question about insurance in our profile is there to bring money to the business. I will join and help the cause.

John

-the monthly calendar (with event dates highlighted)

Thanks for the great overall information thread. I'm not seeing the monthly calendar (quoted). Is this a premium member feature?
