I just got done painting my plastics tonight. Took me 17 hrs to Prep and Paint. I just wanted to share the Pics with all of you! I did just rinse off the car so there is some water but all in all I had no problems went on super easy and looks great. The person you see in the pic is my best friend he came over and helped me with the prep.

That paint job looks fantastic!! I badly need to paint my front plastics but haven't fully decided what paint I am going to use yet.
Can you tell us what kind/color of paint you used? Also I can't really tell if it is black or dark grey...

I used Rustoleum Flat Black (Its good for Plastic/Metal) just be sure to follow directions on can. I originally wanted to go with more of a shine-gloss but after I thought about it I decided out shining my red paint would be a bad idea. Flat black still shines but its not over powering.
I did 4 coats of paint on the plastic and bumpers got 6-7.

Looks great!
Considering doing this to my '03. How hard was it to get the plastic off for the paint? Do any sanding or just spray right on?

how many cans did you need?

I used 8 cans on my car but they contained x2 coverage. (I put more layers of coating on than i needed depending on location 4-6)
I didn't sand anything I just powerwashed and scrubbed with dawn dishsoap
and used a scotchbrite pad to scuff up everything and it also took the paint off the grille so that was awesome.
Getting the plastics off was pretty easy just used a philips screwdriver. The bumpers/grille were another story I couldnt get them off due to forgeting my proper tools at my brothers house. I just taped them off really well. I would suggest taking off the bumpers just cause its easier and doesnt take 3 hours to tape off.
I hope that answered some of your questions.

I've been up into the mountains 4-5 times this month and ive hit up the car wash 4 times (Auto Wash) and I haven't noticed any chips or scratches its only been a month. So far I'm very happy with the painting of my plastics and I think if you havent done it yet. its worth the time and effort!
