: Wanting to align my front-end myself...

I'm getting ready to add a touch more lift to my front-end. When I had my alignment done after my PML, apparently they took it upon themselves to adjust my t-bars and now I'm sitting at around a 2 1/2" rake. I say they did it because I have a hard time believing the t-bars could settle that much.

My question is, how hard is it and what is involved with aligning my front wheels after I crank my t-bars? Or am I just better off dropping another $40 to have them realign it and stand there and police them while they do it so they don't touch my t-bars?

If you anybody can give me a ballpark idea, maybe I can do a "how-to" with photos and post it here.

call them and ask them if they warranty the alignment work for any period of time. if they do...just go ahead and crank them up. But make sure NOT to mention that you touched anything otherwise they might charge you for it. After you crank them, drive it for a day or 2 before taking it in to make sure its settled to the height you want it at.

Thanks man... I've got it leveled back out now. Front is 37.5 and the rear is 38.5 average.

James got with me and he told me how to adjust the camber which I think will be the only thing I need to adjust. The alignment is fine but I could tell that they had adjusted my t-bars. If I get any more settling or have to adjust anymore then I'm going to have to re-index my t-bars now. I've nearly maxed out the adjuster bolt.

But so far so good.

Just finished about a 30 mile drive (with a slight off-road detour) after the adjustment and everything is trued up and looking good.

Hey James... I slipped another washer on top of the sleeve for the safety loop extension and it knocked that annoying squeek right out. I didn't have anything strong enough to bend the tabs on the loop or would I would have just removed it completely.

Oh and that pic I was telling you about of my trashed oil pan is in that skids thread with the poll. My oil tank took a massive throat punch. hahaha Oh and it comes with this handy little video of how it exactly happened too. lol

Glad that worked out for you.

About the safety loop, there is nothing that you have to bend. Just fiddle with it some more and it will slide right out.

OIC... it's one of those japanese mind-twister puzzle manuevers huh? Guess I'm screwed. I sucked at those things. I've got plenty of BFH's I can get it out eventually. Just glad I got the obscene rake out of my X.

I bet you could figure it out. It is just a matter of twists and turns

I am minutes away from doing my PML, I will need this alignment information! Is it just adjusting the tie-rods?

no sir, you will be adjusting the camber
the UCA bolts double as the camber bolts
