I really like the step in the rear qtr panels on the 2nd generation X. Does anyone know if you could take those off (a scrapped one) and put them on a 1st gen X? Has anyone tried it before?

My guess would be that it wouldn't bolt up very easily. I like the step too, and have wondered if there'd be a way to make one to put in there. I'll be pondering over it in the future, and if I ever come up with something I'll post up. If I decide to do a body lift or something, I may do it then, as I'll have the bumper off anyway. I'd have to find a way to get something structural in there, to support bodyweight. Don't really know what's back there at the moment.

Is that step re-enforced though? Something to consider

I'm pretty sure it would be reinforced somehow. I wouldn't think the plastic itself would be enough to pop a recessed step into. I'll have to take a look at it someday and see what it would take.
