: ? about 2001 xterra xe Gas Tank Size platanojavid 03-12-2008, 04:08 AM Alright i have pulled up spec sheets on this and still have no answer . every spec sheet i look at says my tank is 19 gals but why when i try to fill it up all the way when my tank has been empty i can only get 13 gallons or so in ?? can some one please help ? am i not emptying the tank enough or what i hit the E but still ??? please help thank you lowridah313 03-12-2008, 06:23 AM The tank size is 72 litres (yeah I know I'm Canadian) in my '02 so yeah approx. 19 gallons. -Tom- Ricer-X 03-12-2008, 07:32 AM i believe the empty light and guage are set so that when it says you are "empty" you still have a few gallons left incase there are no gas stations nearby the most ive gotten inmy tank is 17.3something gallons json3904 03-12-2008, 10:08 AM the most i have had to put in was a little over 18.... i was running late to work so i didnt stop when the light came on...
