We want to say thank you to all that helped make the 1st National Xterra Meet a huge success. We had 49 Nissans at the first event and would love to break that for the nXm2.. The nXm isnt just about wheeling.. We want to help give back something to the area's we take over for the weekend. This years event brought in over 2500 pounds of food and clothing to the people of Alabama.
That is an amazing amount of items to give from such a small group of people.
We would love to break that record too!

In 2012 we will be hitting Coal Creek / Windrock Mountain. This place is one of the Gems of the East Coast.

This park makes Woolys look like a speck of dirt. It's 72,000 Acres of play ground. I promise you.. You will not see the same Tree twice.. It has over 250 miles of trails. And they keep adding more.. From stock to Rock! If you want to test the limits of your Xterra you can do it.. If you want many hours of riding on light trails you got it.. This place really has something for everyone.. We want every Xterra owner to feel like they can play.. And the views of the East TN Mountain sides are amazing!

Just to add a few things...

Coal Creek is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year so night rides are permitted for those interested while they are here for NXM.

At least 3 campgrounds within a few miles of the park entrance that have bunkhouses, small cabins and ACTUAL bath houses.

Several hotels, restaurants, grocery stores, Wal-Mart and even a Nissan dealership located on the main drag in Oak Ridge which is less than 10 minutes from the park.

OH... almost forgot... Coal Creek also has a 25 mile mountain bike trail so if you are one of those who prefer to keep your X pristine and out of the rocks and mud, bring your bike along. Or if you want to hit the trails on both, have at it. :D

June did lead the votes here but on other sites, fall dates were a landslide. We've been discussing dates ever since NXM ended and have talked to a lot of people. We know this is going to hurt our student attendance but by majority vote and the fact that we do not want to detract from those who would want to attend Moab and/or ECXC, fall dates were better for the masses.

Agreed this was a very difficult decision and a lot of data was weighed to come up with the final date. To anybody who feels their opinion or needs were not weighed and considered in the final decision I can assure you that was not the case. Once everything was considered the fall date was the obvious choice.

Avg Temp in Sept there is 82˚ 60˚ at night..
Plus now one is doing any events that we know of in that time period..

Yup, but it's football season. Long story short, I work every waking hour during football season to pay for my school. The athletic department basically owns me from August to December.

But its whatever, I understand that nothing will work for everyone.

Nonsense... Myself, Dave, Kelly and many others have spent entire weekends there in our Xterras when they were bonestock. It is one park you can truly say that it has something for everyone... and lots of it. :)

Nice. I do plan on having some decent tires and hopefully a suspension upgrade. Putting my list together now. Hope to see you all down there. It'll be about an 8hr trek for me.:wink-big:

Hope you can make it. We've set up a series of 5 trails that are very manageable for stock rigs even in wet conditions. Whenever we go and have some new offroaders/stock rigs along, we put them on this loop. Great scenery, some good challenges and all total, will take upwards of 6 to 8 hours to complete. A perfect day! :)

Ouch! nXm2 will be only a couple weeks after I start my Master's program. I'll have a hard time making this happen with it being the very beginning of some serious work but I'll see what I can do; we do have 15 months to prepare.

Any plan to try and get Nissan Corporate involved again? It would be a great time for them to showcase a new model, get some press of people actually using their X, or just try and be active with the community. Imagine if they brought out some new X's to demo and let the press play with them off road with us at CC.

That park is the only one affiliated with Coal Creek and I'm currently working to see about a package deal for attendees but that is news we won't know until the turn of the year. I've already established a good line of communication with the general manager of the Coal Creek Company and they are full-on in support for us but the stuff I'm hoping to get will take some time to work out.

There are at least 2 other campgrounds right next to the park. I believe one is called Indian Creek and then there is another Coal Creek campground about a mile from the entrance that NOAS has used for their events.

We will release more lodging info around the turn of the year. We are fine-tuning the basics and correcting mistakes we made last year before we really get into the details for NXM2. :)

Well my Trans AM is for sale, and if I get what I'm asking for it ($3500) I'll be bringing a 4x2 to 4x4 conversion and possibly an ARB rear locker :D

Again, I have 232k on mine. I don't think my family has a vehicle under 200k, which is right now an F150.

A few guys from up my way had planed to make the trip down together but we had assumed it would take place in June. Oh well, I’m sure it will be great and hope it is as successful as the 1st!

Can't wait for NXM. Hopefully I can make the money fast enough to do my repairs in time.

Don't mean to re-hash an old idea, but have we considered getting the Geocaching people involved? I think it would be rad to have a hundred or so caches placed in Coal Creek just for our Event. Each one could have a little prize or something in it, or it could be a unique way to do the raffle. Maybe they could be a sponsor and offer a 50% off the Geocaching app deal to NXM attendees.

I imagine that wouldn't be a problem. Your best bet is to find someone before the event. That way they plan for you.

Take your 4x2 out! I took mine to nxm last year (two totally different types of parks thought) If I still own a 4x2 and go to this nxm ill be wheeling my 2wd X!!!

I found its capable of more than you think...and if you have good tires its even better!

Well starting to get somethings checked off the list to get the X ready for the trip. Did the brakes and bearings this weekend. Next is the shocks and sliders. Hopefully full armor after that... We'll see how the money flows.

Well I'll have my lift on by then for sure, and depending on money flow and availability of parts I hope to have the 4x4 conversion complete by then too.

Sweet! I really hope to do more than just drive on really mild trails like I did last year at nxm...I think the funnest trail was the very beginning when we supposably took a wrong turn and ended up on a part of cow skull? I was covered in trees and stuff. Only problems I had at nxm was I hit a stump in a mud hole and stopped and had to back up and hit it faster. Then when ryan led me up those rocks lol....oh and when me and xterraforce tried to get me up that hill but the dam sway bar held my flex up.

Offroad bug has really bit me!

Lol I attempted to make a convoy...it ended up going solo then finding a white 2nd gen I followed. Then on the way home I caught up to TonyS and our two muddy X's convoyed back about 50 miles.

When time gets closer I'm sure convoys will pop up!

View that link. It's $36.86 for your ticket, and then you will also need to purchase your permit to get into the park. Other than both of those, there is nothing more required to WHEEL with us. Obviously, you will need food, gas, and shelter, but that should be all of your expenses.

Also, make sure that your truck is in VERY GOOD shape mechanically. We are not asking that everyone comes out there with a perfect looking truck, we just want to make sure that it is mechanically sound before you get on the trails with other people. This wasn't directed at you, it is just a reminder for everyone. Preventative maintenance should always come before mods, and at this event, preventative maintenance will get you on the trails.

That is correct about the tickets. If your passengers don't want to eat and they don't want a shirt, you only need to purchase one ticket for yourself. The ~$35 one.

The cost to get into Coal Creek is as follows:

1 Day -$17
2 Days-$33
3 Days-$44
4 Days-$55
Annual-$88

That means if you want to wheel Thursday-Saturday, the cost to get into the park is $55 per person.

1 person-$55
2 people-$110
3 people-$165

etc.

However, if you have Children 12 and under, the prices are as follows:

1 day -$8
2 days-$16
3 days-$22
4 days-$28
Annual-$44

Therefore, if you want to bring your wife and two kids, and wheel Friday Saturday and Sunday, your total is as follows:

Three Day permits
2x Adult-$88
2x Kid-$44

Total-$132

Let me also step in... You do not have to buy the ticket for the meal and shirt and such.. We know these are not easy times and so on.. We should have a few extra shirts this year and the packages can be bought up in till August.. Then we will make our final shirt order and start gearing up for the meet.

Check in cabin will be open. Camp set up and light trail riding. Dinner in
Oak Ridge that night.

Friday-
Guided trail runs scheduled from 10 am till 5pm with a group gathering at the camp ground. (9am Noobs to wheeling 101 class.)

Saturday-
Guided trail runs scheduled from 9am till 3pm
4pm we will have a rock climbing challenge open to all.. Watch or participate.. Winner will win a trophy and more..
6pm Raffel and Dinner..

Sunday-
Open run and pack up.
