What a bunch of twisted people. It is sad that they spread so much hate. I saw a documentary on these guys. The leader of the cult has succeeded in brain washing these people. I feel sorry for them that they actually believe they are spreading God's word.

When they came here last time, some people got together and got a parade permit for that day and location. Then when the A$$holes showed up, a whole bunch of local people set up a bunch of stuff and people in front of them (since the protesters had to remain on the sidewalk, because of the parade permit, lol) and then they covered them up from public view. Then they set up the local high school marching band to make sure no one could hear them either. Basically nobody could here or see them protest, so they left, and they haven't been back since. It worked great. Simple and non-confrontational.

If everywhere they went, locals did something like that every time, I think they would get board and stop. They feed on the aggression, so don't give it to them.

It wasn't meant to be taken serious but I guess there are people that only know how to take everything serious....I knew someone would say that.

When people are going over seas and fighting for our freedom and die. Then these idiots protest there funeral? It makes me so mad.

I'm from a military family that's why.

that group is incredibly terrible. they just got done with their little thing in the city of Joplin, MO. the tornado destroyed about half of the town of 50,000 and these insensitive pricks decide to protest it by saying it's the town's own fault because there are gay people.

I don't wish bad things to happen to people, BUT if their stupid tour bus that they travel on blew out a tire on the highway and rolled killing them all, I wouldn't feel bad at all.

im sure you weren't serious and just posted it out of anger, but saying something like that can bite you in the ass down the road....things like that can actually be held against you in court if something ever did happen

I think it was a town in Mississippi that did one of the most creative things. The whole town banded together. At a gas station, one of the WBC nuts got the s*** beat out of him. Unfortunately... there were no witnesses to report who did it. ;)

Prior to the funeral, word got out that the entire group was staying in a motel and the city took their utility trucks and parked behind every vehicle with that state tag on it so that they couldn't get out. And it worked because there were no reports of any person from the WBC present at the funeral. :D

I feel sad for them. Especially the kids. They have no idea how they are being twisted.

I personally think it's a big money scam also. Think about it (and do a little back research, you'll see what I mean). The guy sends out all these people in very small groups that stay really passive during their protest. They piss off a ton of people while they're there (but show no aggression themselves) and eventually someone gets fed up and attacks them, (and they say "for no reason"). Now the head guy sues the attackers for millions, and the cycle starts all over again. Don't get me wrong, what they are doing is absolute BS and is wrong on every level, but I just think there is more to it than just spreading their word, that's all.

It seems like I read somewhere where that is exactly what is happening and it isn't the first "venture" this joker has started.

I read an article on them recently and apparently a lot of the family are successful lawyers. Lawsuits fund their church and their activities. I'll try to dig up the NPR article and post it.

The best way to get them to go away, is to kill them with kindness, lol.

Or just like the other people that come to your door in the middle of the day and try to save you. (or just park your Hearse out front of your house, and then they never step foot near your door, lol)

Exactly. These types thrive off of peoples extreme reaction.

To true....it's what they feed on. Without the negative reaction and resulting press they cease to exist.

I will have to disagree with the whole premise of ignoring them or catering (for lack of a better word) to their farce. Even if you could get the general population to understand the purpose behind the idea, it still leaves them free to disrespect a fallen veteran. Even if it was a common civilian's funeral, this would be appalling. It is just even more so when it comes to a veteran.

Basically, this shit stain on society has found a monster for which there is no way to kill it without sacrificing the significance and respect for the event. I'm actually quite surprised retaliations have remained non-violent for the most part. I'm not sure I could have the same restraint if they showed up at the funeral of one of my family members. I get bothered when someone shows up in jeans and a flannel shirt to a funeral of a friend or relative (which has happened).

The deceased and their family members, regardless of their class or role in society, should not have to be subjected to a total lack of disrespect and a publicity stunt by a misguided (or otherwise) group.

I agree ^^^

rather you are pro war or not you should respect the death of anyone.

Protestors did this same crap during the Vietnam War. Calling family of deceased soldiers telling them they are happy that their son was killed by the heroic people's army of Vietnam, etc. A lot of these people never realized how duped they truly were. The Communist propaganda machine was cranking and fueling the anti war effort as almost a seond front in the US, I have several of the Hanoi based propoganda magazines printed in several languages (mainly english) in the PRC and imported to other countries worldwide and specifically to the states through Canada. Also several authors and dubious pseudo think-tank report style publications also fueled the second propoganda front at this time.

I'm wondering if any of these current whacko splinter groups get support indirectly from terrorist groups in Mideast?
