Hello all. I have a 2004 X XE 4X4 with 37,500mi on it. And just I just randomly hooked my Scan gauge up. Now there is no SES light on. but a P0328 Code is up. I check it out and found that it is a Knock Sensor code. There are no other codes coming up. My MPG is ok. Engine is running smooth. What would make this code come up? and is this something that should be looked into right away or something that can wait ? Does or will this code reset itself at all ? cause I tried clearing it, and it keeps coming back. Should I just bring it back to the stealership and have them fiqure it out for me ? I thank you all in advance for your input...Rob

Yes Ricer that does help. I thank you for that info. I guess I should have looked into it some more (previous posts). So your telling me that alot of X owners have this code come up with no SES light ? And it dosent effect anything ? The reason I ask so much, I just picked this Xterra less than 2 weeks ago from a dealer. I will bring it back and make them fix it. But I also don't want to deal with the BS, like no car for a day or so or lip from them. If this is a real common thing that happens with most all Xterras, then I'm sure if I have the dealer fix it. It would be just a matter of time before the code comes back.....

You are right mgblanke. I called a buddy of mine today that works as the Big Cheese in Charge of service. I asked him about the Knock Sensor code. He chuckled a little, he said " Oh that code " He said "80% of the Xterras out have that code up on them". He said not to worry about at all. And that My Maxima (2000) had the same code up on it. I didn't even know. But he did said the same thing as you and everyone one else, that if i had the Super Charged Model, that I should worry. But as far as mine...he said don't worry about it. Changing the sensor now would be dumb, cause he said most likely in 6 months the code will be back.. So with that I'm not as worried as I was yesterday. I just picked this X up less than 2 weeks ago and I just didn't want any problems right from the start. I also wanted to thank you all for the quick posting replys of information on this subject. Thanks again... Rob

When I had it in the shop the night I was installing my stereo. All the threads here had me wondering...
No code.
