Hi everyone,

My 2005 X starts, but sputters out after a few seconds. This just happened this morning and was perfectly fine before. If I rev it I can keep it running, but if I let off it will die. It has about 95,000 miles on it.

I'm not a mechanic, but am able to do simple repairs, etc. Any advice before I haul it in?

Just tried to swap the ECM relay with the Fog Lamp relay trick and that didn't work either. Same results.

Just another thought, my fuel sensor unit is bad (wacky gauge readings/engine light on) could that have anything to do with it?

Maybe - what I'm thinking is you might have a second CEL code but the light can only come on once. You might get some good info if you read the codes again and see what is on there besides the fuel sensor.

Call the dealership with your VIN and ask if there is a fuel sending unit recall.
