Hi folks. I just moved here to Orlando from Oklahoma. I am planning to do the timing belt kit and replace my cracked exhaust manifolds when I have the coin sometime pretty soon. I really don't have a good garage since I moved and all my tools are packed away in storage right now. So, when I get around to doing these is there anyone with experience doing either of these in the central Florida area that likes beer and pizza and might want to give me a hand?

If I was close by I would be happy to lend a hand. I want to add some pics to my timing belt how to also, so it would be a great opportunity. Good luck!

I'd be happy to lend a hand. I'm by no means an expert but I'd be willing to help. Where in Orlando do you live? I swear I saw you last weekend in Apopka. It was sunday night about 8:30 or 9:00 and if it was you, you were pulling out of a neighborhood in Apopka.

Yeah you might have seen me. I live over near Apopka off Beggs and Hiawassee. I thought I saw a modded black Xterra as I was pulling out of the neighborhood one night but since it was dark and it went by so fast I wasn't sure if it was an Xterra or not. I heard the tires hum coming down the road.

I'd love some assistance. I've been looking over my Xterra service manual for the step by step instructions but it's still nice to have someone that's done it before. The timing kit needs done soon, as it is at 105k so I'm hoping it will hold off a week or so. It's probably poor prioritizing but I gotta get my A/C leak repaired, its so F'ing hot here and I'm ready to have cold A/C again.

I have a laundry list of things I need to service on my rig. After the timing belt kit is the exhaust manifolds that the Nissan dealer told me was cracked when I took it in to have the A/C diagnosed. I also need to replace 2 low pressure power steering hoses that probably have stressed and leaked after having the BL for so many years.

Yep that was me and that was you...lol It's funny I was just telling Ryan(02Blue4x4) yesterday about seeing an X with a full roof rack replacement and front bumper on it last weekend...lol He actually helped me do my timing belt well I did more helping and he did more of the work...lol Maybe we can get a mod day going and enlist him to help us do your timing belt. It wasn't bad doing mine just time consuming. I hear you on the AC though, I just replaced a leaky hose on mine about 2 months ago. It's way to hot down here to not have AC. Those PS hoses may be leaking at the base of the PS resivoir. Mine did after the BL. I replaced them with better hose clamps and that fixed the leak.

Well cool beans. Small world. I'd be happy to have a mod day. When I moved, I took each drawer of my tool chest and packed the tools in boxes so as not to stress the drawers. I can unpack it all but I have only lived with this room-mate for a few weeks and not sure if I want to yet and give him access to all of it LOL. But I'm dying without them being organized. Anyway weather we do mods at my place (my room-mate's house) or wherever, it should be fun. But with all the reading I'm doing about people saying do the timing sooner than later or you will be sorry, I'm getting nervous. I guess when i order the kit I'll holler at you.

Yeah that's cool. I hear you on feeling out the room mate and your tools. I'm not to far from you. I'm in Altamonte Springs and I work in Apopka. If it makes you feel any better I didn't do mine till 110K...lol

Well, I just graduated from Veterinary School. I am taking a 1 year medicine and surgery internship at Affiliated Veterinary Specialists on 17-92.

BTW, I got my A/C fixed today. It's glorious to have functioning cold A/C again.

Good to know! Thanks! I just have 2 cats now. I had to put my dog down last year. Broke my heart but she was having seisures and the vet said it was a brain tumor... she was 14 years old... My wife keeps wanting to get another dog but I don't think I'm ready just yet...
