P.S.-James is sitting right there with me but I am too iffy about it. He just asked if I could write this so I can feel that much better about it.

Yes. Do it. You will not regret it. Anyways, you can put 'em right back on if you don't like it.
PS - "I meat up with James".........................hehehe. Sorry, I couldn't help myself.
Drake 03-02-2008, 10:10 PM :hypnose-big: James wasn't looking at you like this was he? I think that may have been how I ended up with a PML, 2" BL and all the other mods I've done and plan to do to it. You must avoid further confrontations like this young padowan... the force is strong with this one.

Gilligan_From_IT 03-02-2008, 11:35 PM Ya guys I keep hearing about the removal of my sway bar on my X, but not that I don't trust you guys, and I've seen some of the damage on a couple of posts on this forum. But I can't help but still feel iffy about doing that, is the removal of the sway bar straight forward and easy to do? I haven't seen any posts yet on how to remove it. Can anyone point me in the right way.
Thanks.

pvfjr 03-02-2008, 11:51 PM Ya guys I keep hearing about the removal of my sway bar on my X, but not that I don't trust you guys, and I've seen some of the damage on a couple of posts on this forum. But I can't help but still feel iffy about doing that, is the removal of the sway bar straight forward and easy to do? I haven't seen any posts yet on how to remove it. Thanks.
Just got around to doing mine yesterday. There's two links that mount the swaybar to the frame, one on each side of the vehicle. At the top of each link, there is a stud-mounted ball joint type joint that has a 14mm nut holding it onto the bracket, and the stud has 14mm wrench flats on the back side to hold it still. Take both those off. Then, there's two bushing mounts on the axle. Each bushing mount is held on with two 14mm bolts, so two per side. In total, you remove 4 bolts, and two nuts. You need a 14mm ratchet, and a 14mm wrench. Or you can use 9/16", whatever. That's it, it's super easy.
Edit: Bah, beat by a few moments. I didn't spray mine at all, and they came out fine. I do, however, live in a salt-free region.
Drake 03-02-2008, 11:54 PM It's a simple and straightforward thing to do. It only takes a few minutes and you're done.
Take it off and drive your X around a day or so and if you don't think you feel safe or if you think it really affects the handling that much then just put it back on.
But if you plan on going offroad, take it off. There's no "it might damage your shock" to it. IT IS GOING TO DAMAGE YOUR REAR SHOCK!
I don't remember who the member was or what club it was in but one guy posted shots of his rear shocks where his sway bar bent one to the point that the shock would no longer compress.
Gilligan_From_IT 03-03-2008, 12:07 AM Thanks for the info Drake & pvfjr. If you guys hadn't felt much or any difference after it being done, then that makes me feel better. After doing this, is there anything I should be aware of on the way someone should drive?
Thanks again
Gilligan_From_IT 03-03-2008, 12:17 AM Well I talked to Drake a little bit further via PM, and I'm gonna take off the sway bar in a couple of months when the weather gets better up here.
Thanks everyone.
:wink-big:
Ricer-X 03-03-2008, 06:14 AM take em off!
oh wait, am i late?
dudes, yall are gonnna be ok without em, they do nothing anyway, they are so ineffective its as though nissan designed them specifically to damage the rear shock
Gilligan_From_IT 03-03-2008, 01:44 PM lol...ya Ricer-X, a little too late, but better late then never...:aufkopfhauen-big:
But thanks none the less.
