definately the blower resistor, a 20 dollar part. i just fixed this on my 00. it is a common problem. just unscrew the glovebox's 6 screws and it will just drop down. the blower motor/resistor are under there.

Hi All,

I have a similar though slightly different problem. At first the blower would only kick in occasionally usually after hitting a bump or something and now it's not working at all. I tried tapping the blower motor housing and the blower kicked on but the air conditioning would only work on setting 1. Could this also be a blower motor/resistor combination? Any help would be great guys.

Up here in Canada the resistor is $100 and the motor without fan is $85. Thanks.

Yours is a different problem. Could be a loose connection, or a problem with the motor itself. EIther the brushes in the motor are worn out, or they're stuck. You can take the cover off the motor, check the brushes, and if there's still brush material there, lube them up.

Also check the electrical connections at the motor, as it could be a loose connection there.

Thanks. I'll give it a try tomorrow and see if that works.

Hi guys-
Old blower motor resistor was only running my blower on the high setting, so I replaced the resistor, then the fuse and it worked great for about 5 days. Now it only works on high again. Almost seems like the resistor part went after only a few days? Any ideas? Thanks.
