Thanks Guys (and Gals) Just picked up my Nissan Xterra on Friday during a Wild Snowstorm in Conn. So this first time 4X4 driving was great ! I spent all weekend looking up info about What I can do with and what extra cool stuff thats out there for Xterras, And I came accross this site, glad I could Join ! also The name " Kickyerass" was just a screen name I use on Socom and Call of Duty 4 online on my PS3.
Any info about Xterras from you guys would be great ! Thanks again !! Rob

Oooo Socom used to be my crack back in the day! Between it and MGS2 & 3, I lived on my PS2. I got too many mods planned to spring for the PS3 but I imagine once MGS4 hits the shelves I'll be itching for one. That's my all time favorite game series without question.
Nice looking '04 you have. So after all your research, have you decided on your first mods yet?
Be very careful with the mod bug because once it bites, there is no cure or antidote. You can only hope to suppress the symptoms with more mods :mocking:

No none yet, Maybe the Cold Air Intake K&N. I ordered Driving Lights and a tow bar for it. As far as the PS3, OMG I'm on that thing just about every nite Screen Name is KICKYERASS. Love the Socom, Just waiting for the new one to come out, so for now I'm stuck On COD4.
I had a 2000 Nissan Maxima, WOW ! to many speeding tickets. So I traded it in for the Xterra, the only thing so far is !! WOW this thing sucks GAS !!

If you want a true Cold Air Intake go with Volant. It's really the only TRUE CAI. The others are CLEAN air intakes and yet still referred to as CAI's.
Check out this thread to modify your stock intake. Although I haven't done this myself, I am planning to eventually and stand behind the idea.

Look into doing a PML (Poor Man's Lift) as well. It's a simple job that takes little more than an hour and about $70 to do and it will give you 1.5" of lift which really makes the 1st gens have a nice stance.
And a little tip on your fuel efficiency. There's not much you can do to make it any better. Fact is... it's an SUV. They are gas guzzlers. BUT... change your driving habits and you will see an improvement. I try to drive more by my tach then I do by the speedo. If you can manage to keep it at or below the 2500 rpm range, you will have the best mpg's. Yes it sucks to drive that slow but so does only getting 240 miles to a tank when you could get 280.

Thanks for your Help Drake. Yes today was the first day I refilled my tank, and Thats what I got was about 240 miles to the tank. I had a Maxima before and the gas Milage was much better, and I had it to the floor all the time ! With the Xterra I've been very easy on the gas just to see how everything went for the first week. I'll try the " Watch the Tach " for this week and see how it goes. I just looked up the air box you just suggested the Volant. I think I may order one. I just fear that Service engine soon light popping on after putting it in. I'm thinking that they thought of that, and that everything will hook up with no prob.....

I've read nothing but good reports about the Volant system which may just justify the pricey tag on it.
I know exactly what you mean about driving with your foot to the floor. I've driven 2 accords and 2 civics (one of which had some "minor" tweaks... lol) for the past 12 years so I was packing a lead foot when I first got in the xterra. I just about had to relearn how to drive. No more hanging turns at 70+ lol

Well I can still hang the turns at 70mph, I don't think the xterra might like it but....Thats too funny. Hey and thanks for the add on myspace. Talk to ya soon ....
