We got drilled last night with hail and crazy winds, but its the people in northern Alabama that I'm worried about.

Hopefully all of our guys down their weathered the storm alright.

I'm about to head out to class so I guess I'll get to see all the hail damage first hand...

These were taken at a mall around my area yesterday morning. It only touched down for a minute or so no damage no 1 hurt.

Yeah a friend of mine that lives outside Birmingham had some pics on Facebook, it was pretty crazy. Of course I come to work yesterday morning, and the tornado sirens are going off all around town and they make us go out on the flight line and move aircraft into the hangers. WTF.

Two tornados just missed my house, currently no power, spotty cell coverage, and no land lines. Restoration of power estimated at 5 days from now. Dusk to dawn curfew in effect and you need ID to het anywher near my neighborhood. The area around Casa de Racer looks like a nuke was set off. I was really lucky.

Good to hear you are doing ok. Sounds exactly like what I went through during IKE... although I hope your town gets power in less then two weeks lol

The reports look insane. I can't believe the damage on TV. My area (South Mississippi) was very lucky and wasn't in the path of this really bad weather. For the people hit by these tornadoes, God Bless and I wish you the best.

I'm alive and kicking but I can't believe it. Guys, this was the worst shit I've ever been through in my life. I'm fortunate in that I had to come here to Vegas to do a job so I'm finally able to take hot showers and catch up on news. Huntsville has been completely cut off from the world. I didn't even know Tuscaloosa got hit until yesterday when my friend's dad told me he was down there when it hit. We are 100% without power in Huntsville and they aren't expecting to get any power to any of the city until at least Tuesday. No gas, no atm's to get cash and the grocery stores are picked clean. What few were able to open that is. Looting everywhere. It is insanity.

My immediate family is ok but I have relatives in Cullman that we have been unable to get in touch with. My cousin is a pediatrician and works in Cullman Regional which took a direct hit and we have no word from anyone so we are concerned greatly. My friends had a storage unit in Tanner that we just moved their belongings to last weekend and it has been wiped off the planet along with the church and trailer park surrounding it. The devastation here is unbelievable.

Kelly, I passed near your place last night on my way back to Huntsville and man you guys got lucky. There were cars in trees that couldn't have been more than a couple of miles from your house at best.

Thanks man

Aaron, sorry to hear about your friends. That is awful and unfortunately there seem to be a lot of people in Alabama who share the same situation. My jaw hit the floor when I saw the death toll this morning.

To give you an idea of how people are having to fend for themselves, I went to get gas yesterday morning at 6:30 a.m. I left the pumps at 11:45!!! There were almost 300 cars in line at the ONE gas station able to get up and running. They had two tankers parked in the Wal-Mart parking lot next to it ready to fill the tanks when they ran dry... which they did... twice.

The places that had gas, didn't have generators to work the pumps. The places that had power or generators to run the pumps, ran out of gas within a few hours.

Wow! That is nuts to see the before and after images.

For those not familiar with Tuscaloosa, MacFarland Blvd. is the main drag through the University of Alabama campus. It is where all of the top social spots, a lot of apartment complexes and fraternity homes are located.

Just found out I might be heading down to bama to help in the clean up sometime this week or the next. I hope the storms do hold off for a bit while everyone is exposed.

Power, cell, internet, and landlines are still out at home after speaking to my wife tonight. Currently I am in Salt Lake City, UT for work and this is the first day I have had internet access. I found this video on Youtube showing most of the damage in Limestone County where my house is.

All of the video shot from the 36:20 on is right around my house. From 37:15 to 38:00 is all located less than a quarter mile from my house.

The green area is where Casa de Racer is with the black square showing the gated community from the video. The red shaded area is one of the tornado's path.

Lucky does not even begin to describe it. Prayers go out to those who were most effected by the storms.....I lost power and some sleep while many of my neighbors lost much more. Keep the folks of N. Alabama in your prayers and thoughts.

WOW!!!

Happy to hear you fared well. Sorry to see your neighbors didn't make it out so good.

Living through hurricane disasters, I know exactly what you guys are going through. Everything Drake had to say brought back clear memories of IKE (most recent hurricane).

Keep us updated so we know where we (nXm) are needed in June.
