Hey so every once in a great while my abs light comes on. Soon as I turn the car off and then back on it goes away. It has happened maybe two or 3 times in the past 3 months so I cant say for sure that there is something I have done every time that turns it on. Any ideas?

Dude my light stays on! I think what my problem is, is that i have larger than stock tires and so it cant get an accurate reading...do you have larger than stock tires?

Well I have stock tires, and my light comes on as well. i just think its a bad ground and need to find it.

I have heard that the ABS sensor can get trash (mud, sand, etc) on it which will make the light come on because it can't properly do whatever it is the sensor is supposed to do.
I just woke up... my brain is still in bed so you'll have to excuse the half-arsed explanations. :mocking:

i run 33's and my light isn't on... so you can rule that one out.... if you wheel it and don't clean the sensor it will stay on.... as to where it is located i have no idea.... when i bought my X the abs light was on, it was the abs controller.... take it to the stealership and have them do a diag on the abs system.....

There are four sensors that I know of. One at each wheel. They are easy to find as they are the only other things at each wheel that aren't brake lines. Take out the sensors and clean them. There is a thread somewhere on XOC on how to test and read the ABS system. I think it is in the FSM too.
