: Detailed PICS Wanted

I wired my bumper lights a while ago, no problem. I know what to do once I get to the engine compartment. However, when it comes to ROOF LIGHTS, what I can't find are pics on HOW to get there. Many talk about how like: under the weather stripping by the window but no pics. Also, drilling under the foot (did read up on that) and there is a GOBI simi writeup but what is envolved with running the wiring on the inside?

:aufgeregt-big: I'm just trying to understand what I'm looking at before I start unscrewing, diconnecting and possibly drilling.

Ricel, Thanks for the post, your setup looks great. However, like someone asked in the thread I'm looking for what people did to run the wire after you drilled the roof hole.

"I ran the wires down the Factory Rack drilled in the roof then down the pillar"

Since I've never taken apart this area, how did you disconnect the liner, is it glued? Does the pillar cover just pop out(I guess I can check the manual for screws).

It's not that you're not helpful...I appreciate every piece of information, it's just every one leaves this part out.

Take the oh-shit handle off by popping up 2 tabs and unscrewing the 2 screws. Pop the "A" pillar cover off after that. The seal is not glued; you can pull it out. See the pic below for how I did it.

You can see that I took my roof rack up and drilled through the roof. I've not had any problems with leaking; of course I used a ton of silicon to make sure it was sealed as best as possible.

Here is a shot from the front. I drilled the hole in the groove under the roof rack foot.

Here is the hole I drilled looking at it from the top. It already has the rubber grommet in it (to protect the wiring).

And here is a shot of the hole from the cabin looking up around the headliner.

Hope this helps a little.

I went back and gave emmdock a rep point for his earlier thread. I remember seeing it long ago; it was my inspiration to drill. Glad we could help.

When I wired mine I ran them up twist tied to the cables in my engine and then rant the wires through the little crack between the front right quater panel and the hood, then inside and then back up again along the weather sealant. Never leaked a bit, never cut the wires.
