Ok. I'm doing some work on my son's 2005 Xterra S before he graduates from college. He's not the mechanic type, enough said. I love it, though. I have about 4 problems, but one at a time. Here's #1.
When I picked it up from him, he mentioned that it had just started having starting issues. It would start, but it must turn over many times before it would. Now, as I drove away from him in a cold Xterra, it stalled, and I restarted it like described above. Once almost home after 200+ miles, I had a 20 minute stop off. I didn't think it was gonna restart. It finally did. Once home, and with tools, I disconnected the battery to try and reset the computer. Once reconnected, the check engine light was off and it fired right up. Plugs new 20k ago. No issues there. Good non-ethanol fuel. But, gas gauge was showing 3/4 when full (don't know if that pertains or not). Now, after I drive it about 4 to 6 miles, c.e.l. comes back on, and we're right back to square one.
What do y'all think?? Let's fix this one and we'll move to #2 (not engine related).
