Hello guys and gals I live here in loganville, GA. I haven't been on the forum long so I was wanting to throw out a hello and say that I am looking for groups of people on here that frequent the off-road places around here so that I can hopefully join in and start breaking my xterra in. I know people post rides on the forum, but I just wanted to throw my name in the hat for being a person of interest for upcoming trips. Thanks!

How far are you willing to drive? :)

Well the distance isn't much of an issue. I can always stay at a hotel if it is too far to drive up and back in one day.

Well several of us hit Wooly's Offroad Park in Lynnville, TN a few times a year and we try to hit Coal Creek Offroad Park near Oliver Springs, TN usually twice a year. I think Drbandkgb was going to scout Summertown to see what it had to offer sometime in the next month or two as well.

In Alabama, closer to you, is Mountainside ORP near Gadsden which has expanded a good bit since I was there so there may be more to offer the less extreme rigs. I'm hoping to get down there again sometime this year and check it out. We also have Hale Mountain ORP in Meridianville that is a fun park. My local club hits it pretty often.

For now, just plan on coming to Wooly's in June for the National Xterra Meet. :)

Keep your eyes on the southeastern forum section. We usually try to post up a run at least a month if not two months in advance for people to plan for.

Will do, I appreciate it. Out of those parks, are any of them just mud parks or are most of them trails?

All of the ones I listed are actual trail parks but they do have small "playgrounds" for those that like to play in the mud. I'm not a fan of mud myself so I tend to visit the parks with good trails.

Coal Creek has over 160 miles of trails. We've found a few to play on there. :)

Welcome to CX. :) We have a pretty good group that wheels at the places Drake mentioned above. Good mix of 1st and 2nd Gen Xterra's.

Welcome to CX. I'm a part of that good group that Kelly is talking about, or hopefully I am. Coal Creek is an awesome place to wheel, and we will probably go back in the fall.

Thanks for the info guys. Coal creek sounds like it has a lot of potential with 160 miles....I am up for going to any of these places, I like you Drake am not a huge fan of mud because it drives me nuts trying to get all of the stuff off later. I enjoy the trails and such though. I am going to try and make it to the national meet. I have some training around that time so I just have to make sure they don't conflict with each other. Being that I have never had an Xterra is the only reason I ask this. Are you limited with a stock Xterra on where they will go at these places or is it pretty much all accessible?

I am working on it. I took the first one with my cell phone, but I have been building my workshop benches and work tables so I haven't given it the first official photo shoot...lol. I will try and get more detailed photos tonight.

You will be shocked at how well the stock X will perform offroad. And with you having the rear locker, you could be leaving a lot of us behind once you learn how it handles. :)

When I took my '04 offroad for the first time at Coal Creek, I kept telling the trail leader "are you sure about this?" lol He just kept pushing me on and I never had to get strapped up. I was amazed. Coming from a blazer to the X, it left the blazer in shame.

Good to know. I will definitely have to feel it out because all I am use to is rhinos and atvs. I am excited to try. I am talking to the wife now about the meet and I think we are going to come and bring our 10 month old because he loves riding in cars, and we will call it his one year birthday gift! Get him started early!

I ride ATVs as well. We are going to Wooly's Saturday actually to scout out some stuff for the meet.

Question: How do we specify what size shirts we need for the national meet? The registering page said you get one, just don't know if we specify ahead of time what we need or if we just get on from the "pile" of sizes when we check in. Your thoughts.....
