Hey everyone (this is a great board by the way),

Was wondering if anyone had advice when Powder Coating Rims.

My plan is to just take a sander on a power drill, get off all the silver paint, clean it off and then just take some powder coating from Advance Auto and add some black to them.

Good approach?

James we can add this to mod day if you want lol.

Haha. Well the thing about a mod day, is you want to start small. Although I would ideally say that would take 2-3 hours, it might be an all day event.

I would take a flap wheel to the rims instead. If you use that, then you can get more of it done in the hard to get to places. I think a couple of coats of primer and a couple of coats of Krylon flat or semi flat would do the trick.
