Hi! Well, I just used the search tool, and what I came up with is that the lift you get out of a AAL depends on the leaf pack. There are many brands out there and there are different numbers of leaves too. So that is what you need to be looking for

If you are looking for brands, there are:

Deaver

Alcan

AC

Calmini

This is all that I am aware of, and if there are others, then they escape me now.

A couple of suggestions that I found using the handy search tool irectly above the arrows ^^^^^^ that I just drew, (past search this tread) are Bilstiens, and Rancho.

Thanks!-James

How much lift are you trying to get? I went with the AC shackle when i started off and it gave me about an inch and a half of lift. However AAL is nice as well... Depends on how much lift you want...

One thing I failed to mention about one of your questions is new shocks are not going to do anything for you as far as lift goes. BUT... when you lift your Xterra you are going to want longer shocks to allow for more wheel travel. And if you haven't read many of my latest replies, go with Bilstein through AC. They are top notch. Just make sure to specify the stiffness you want and make sure you get them for the 3" SL.

Don't Go with a single add a leaf as i have heard it is a rancho crappo..You will want the 3 aal it is a deaver (suppose to be the best i have heard)

my single AAL performs womderfully, and i have wheeled my x ALOT and HARD
to the OP, go with what you want
the whole leaf pack will give you more extra cargo weight than tha single does, but it also ride stiffer and articulates less then the single, its a trade off really depends on what YOU want it for

Didn't mean to offend anybody, im just going by the thousands of hours i have reading posts on several Xterra forums.......

I have no experience with them personally....I see you have a 2x4.

Are you sure it's going to get as rough of a beating as a 4x4.

lol
im not offended
and actually, it gets a worse beating than a 4x4, i have to hit everything harder! haha

but i dont wheel my X anymore, i swang a yota on the trails now(and its 4x4 too!)

i have a 2wd X also... i have a 3aal on mine and i have taken it off road many times.... when you wheel with a 2wd it is harder on the drive train since you have to gain momentum before you hit the obstacle.... as on the 4x4 you can creep through the obstacle since you have the extra drive wheels....

recap:
ricer has the single
i have the 3AAL

the 3AAL gives you more lift..... ricer has longer shackles than me and we have the same lift......
